Opening Movie Freeze/Won't Load - PC

Hello, I find an existing topic specifically for the opening movie freezing/not loading on the PC. However, I couldn't find any solution to solve this problem.

Anyway, I will just quote what Shinji, the original poster said, and this is actually happened to me excatly:

"I have no trouble getting to the main menu past the launcher, however if left idle and the game tries to play the cinematic the screen stays black with the little loading circle in the lower right corner and the cinematic does not load (I left it waiting up to 45 minutes and still no dice). The same thing occurs if I actually select "Opening Movie" option from the main menu.

Additionally the entire game becomes unresponsive to any form of input and the only option to get out of the black loading screen of abyss is to ctrl+alt+dlt and force stop the process. The process does not become unresponsive as Windows 7 registers the program as functioning properly, it just does not appear to be loading the cinematic properly."

It seems happened exactly to me but there is no resolve method as my searching result. I have tried every method but it still occurs every time.

You have a windows N or KN version and need the media feature pack installed to play WMV files via the windows media foundation codecs.


Otherwise, a codec pack you have installed is corrupt or faulty.
