Gone for months confused about SMN pet accuracy.

Through Google I've read a lot of conflicting information about pet accuracy:

1. Cap same as SMN spells or does it follow melee front/flank/rear? Is Garuda (I'm so sick of this pet) based off spell accuracy since Wind Blade is listed as a spell? versus Weapon skill like Ifrit Burning Strike?
2. Pet benefit from food buffs? I've heard yes & no, but no real confirmation.

SMN needs same accuracy as melee which, for Second Coil, is 495 maximum. Pet does *not* benefit from food buffs.

That's .... terrible class design; guess I shouldn't expect less from SE

491 accuracy for t8-t9 for cap your pet.

Yea, to be clear this means that you have to hit this accruacy without the benefits of food or else your pet will still miss attacks. With the current "BiS" set up from the Gear Calculator you should be eating Buttons in a blanket HQ for max benefit for determination.
