If the goal is for every craft to have viable equal options I think the ball was sorely miss, fishing is casual why do I now need to spend millions in goldsmith or w/e to get my i75 fishing rod :/.

Well considering you can't obtain Mastercraft Demimateria from rocks/ores/plants/logs, I think it's pretty fair.
There's a reason you get 300 points to spend.
And yet no other gathering class can just pick up stuff that can be desynthed.
increased effort = increased reward.
FSH/CUL have it easy because they don't have to synth anything in order to level up their desynth level. You can have a lv 30 CUL without any gear and reach desynth 100 on CUL, unlike all the other crafts. Also you only need 1 mastercraft demimateria to upgrade to supra, compared to 3 for the other crafters/gatherers. Would you like some more cheese with that whine?
But you get sweet ass swim suits.
Looking cool > anything else.
It takes time, but nothing else. You don't need secondary mats, or shards/crystals/clusters, or master crafting books just to make the things that you then desynth, or alternate crafting classes leveled to be able to actually succeed at getting to such a high point.
Fishing is entirely standalone. If Mastercraft could come from fishing, it would be the hands down way that everyone got them. Even GSM would pale in comparison.
