Please slow down a bit.
Was finishing main storyline last night, and I understand the majority want newbies to skip cut-scenes. That debate has been done to death on numerous other threads, this is not one of them.
My issue was not having enough time for the CS to load up in order to skip. I told my party I was doing a first time run, I watched a couple of videos for Ultima, and I was skipping CS. There is an option to auto skip, but it won't work if it's a new run, you have to manually skip. By the time I did, my party was already gone. I explained I needed them to slow a bit, but was responded with I just need to move faster for the speed run. After getting locked out of a boss encounter, I said F it, good luck finding another tank, I'll do the run with a better group.
No point to this thread, just venting. Anyone else have this issue with slow loading of CS to skip?

Yes, I've seen that many times. And it happens with PS3 players too, as they need a bit for it to load. That's why, most of the time when I see anyone doing that, I step back and enjoy the views from behind the wall, specially when they've been asked to wait a bit. If they're in such a rush that they can't wait 30s max., they can eat the extra seconds/minutes that will take them to kill the bosses without another one. I for one don't mind alt tabbing meanwhile :p

Unfortunately, this kind of thing wont end probably as the vast majority have completed it. and although I am sorry that your first run went poorly, I also know what its like to be on the other end of this bar. From the other sides perspective they have run that dungeon countless times and just wanna get their daily bonus and get the hell out.
I dont think there is an easy way to solve this issue for either side. Just try to get through it and the next time you can run it with the rest of them easily.

I would of just stayed for the free run. You're not gonna get much experience out of it now that people are pretty much overgeared. But regardless, the group was stupid not to wait an extra 10 - 20 seconds anyways.

Although you are 100% correct some machines take a longer time to load, and I agree people need to be more empathetic about it, you irritated me with Your "good luck finding another tank" bit at the end. You were very clearly not needed. Not to mention tanks regularly fish for parties in progress there so you were probably replaced instantly and even if you weren't you ate a 30 minute penalty whereas they probably finished it in 20.
EDIT
To be clear I demand no one to skip scenes. If both healers and/or both tanks are new, oh well. We wait, big deal. People whine and there's nothing you can do about it. When I first did that place last year, my entire party was new. We took nearly the entire 2 hours. People don't know what slow is these days.

The system should be implemented so that no one can skip if there is a first-timer and that will be that. What are the odds of getting a first timer, it is like less than 1/20 (or 5%) right now, probably because of the new PS4 players, and those odds will only get smaller. Even if FFXIV grows by 1% per month, that get 1% more players (effectively asking for 12% account growth year-over-year which would be phenomonly good), that means in any given month you be lucky to run across a new player doing CM or Prae, because 99% of the it will be non-first timers and people can skip all they like.
I leveled my tank specifically so I can run Prae and CM on a regular basis and if I run across a 1st-timer I make sure to wait for them and let them watch the cutscenes. I've been cussed out by elitist speed runners, but it is well worth it, and sometimes you get the pleasant surprise for the non-first-timers that really appreciate being able to play it thru for the first time in all their runs as it should without the flow being messed up.
