It was mentioned that in 2.2 Free Companies would be able to ally with each other, get a shared chat channel amongst other benefits. Has this been scrapped? Or has it been postponed or?

It also worries me that they won't say anything about this anymore, because it was a feature I was excited about... :/
There's a lot of features and things the development team want to add in, but sometimes these things get pushed back simply due to time constraints.
PvP Battlegrounds
Crystal Tower
Chocobo Breeding/Racing
Free Company Alliances
Wandering Open World Primals (besides Odin)
There's quite a large number of things they WANT to add but simply couldn't add (already have added), delayed, cancelled, postponed.
Please look forward to it.
It'd be nice to know when they actually give up on something though, just so we can know when to stop "looking forward to it".
I think they sort of learned their lesson on telling everyone too many things they plan to implement, because of them doing this in the past we now have the chocobo companion system that isn't nearly what they originally told us it would be (and parts are still broke because they can't figure out how to get around their own programming), a sub par housing system, a materia system that borders on useless, only to become useful again around patch time so you can gather and craft what essentially will become useless gear, a watered down guild system in the form of free companies. They said in the last live letter they are no longer going to release timelines, but instead just tell us a few features, and work them in when they can. No matter what the content, if they tell us that they will release it, and we have 6 months to think about it, it will rarely be what we expect it to be. On the other hand if they tell us they are giving us a couple primals and a few new dungeons, then drop something unexpected on us, more people are more than happy with the "extra" stuff, and the developers only have to worry about internal pressure to get these hidden gems done and on time, and not have to worry about the community giving them grief about it. As much as I would like to have more info on what they plan to release, I have to admit, I do like a good surprise when I see something I wasn't expecting.
AFAIK, they never slated that for 2.2. Or any specific patch for that matter. They just said "in the future."
An update would be nice, though.
