Idea for old gear

This would be related to item progression I guess.

With new content always being on the way we will always get better or equal options of new gear. So what is to become of gear like AK(60) and DL(70) when we are eventually at say ilv100 or 150? No one will ever even consider using it. Myth is quickly becoming the new DL in terms of amount of people acquiring it.

What if, as new gear comes out, the amount of tomes for tiers of gear decreases as with the item level?

Would it be a good idea to eventual have DL gear be ilv10 (equip-able at lv10) and make it super cheap like 35-100 philosophy max even for like a chest piece? Would give it a new and familiar purpose when leveling other new classes.

Make it dye-able and use it for vanities. I like the Cavalry set and wish I could color it differently.
