Just curious if anyone has tried this and/or think it's possible. I know that sometimes later on in the encounter i've had it where a tank goes down and the snakes merged back together but we managed to just finish the snake off.
Anyone tried just letting it split and re-merge? With many groups full i90 now wonder if it's possible to just add another dps and down the snake faster and have the healers just focus on one tank. Big hits but double the heals.

The only feasible thing you could do is kite the boss without getting A SINGLE HIT. But then shield lobbing is not a viable enmity generation in a long fight.
Hm... but you could however get a third healer and spam cure/physick on the tank with mage's ballad on. I suppose that is the only way. But the tank's HP will be spiking like a yoyo from less than 5% hp to 100% then back to 5% and going back up to 100% repeatedly... -

It was already done sometimes ago. Search in Youtube or in the forums. They just tanked and healed it. But damage mitigation must be properly rotated.

AFAIK this can only be done by a Paladin/Scholar combo since it's the ultimate combo of mitigation (both SCH and PLD) and ST healing (SCH). -

my fc did it the other night. first time i saw it but im sure others have done it long ago. There is extra dps so my fc team burned it down by 8 stacks (or maybe it caps at 8?). Also, you want the melee to try to bait as many tail swipes to avoid damage on the tank. Healers just heal thru it, pop SS/aldos, while the tank does his CDs around 4 stacks. They didnt feed any slimes, just healed thru it and burned it down. I did see one massive hit around 7 stacks where it depleted all of tanks hp to like 50! But they popped a benediction, and I believe there were no buffs on the tank. No shields, CDs etc. There may or may not have been virus or eye for eye applied which maybe saved his life. Make sure those are getting thrown up too. Whatever helps the tank stay alive.

It can be kitted. Surprisingly, yeterday that's what happened. Boss splitted, we seperated them. Then off tanks dies and the split goes on a rampage and remerges with the original at 8 full stacks. We are 1 Tank (Me: Pally), 1 Bard and 1 White Mage. Since my aggro was way over the top, I had no issue to start running around the area while the Bard Dps'ed it and the White Mage rezzed the whole group. I got hit a few times but nothing life threatening. Took us a while but he had close to 20% life left or something like that and we killed him.
Just make sure the main tank knows how to run (sprint!!!!) and to circle defensive cooldowns.
