Random FC invites.

So...got my myth capped, CT piece obtained and Coil done for the week so I decided to make a few Alts on non legacy servers to check em out and re-do the story.

I was shocked at the amount of blind invites to FCs I got. 5 different invites in less than 2 hours.

I get that people are trying to grow their FCs but how good can these FCs be if they just blindly invite anyone that doesn't have a < .... > by their name?

I mean, maybe I'm just spoiled being in some great FCs and Links...but I kinda expect a quick mission statement or something before being invited.

Like, "hey..noticed you didn't have a FC...well I happen to be a leader of <clever name> FC and we have a great mix of new and veteran players. Would you care to join?"

Is this just the norm on most servers? because if I was on my main, no way in hell would I just randomly join a FC b/c they threw me an invite.

Because some FC leaders don't care for members and probably have some reward scheme prize for those that can recruit the most members. Best FC's are generally the smaller ones.

Not that I've seen. Though normally if it's the same person after I first declined I will send them a tell. Most are just people hwo don't really care who joins them at all. They might kick you as fast as you joined if you don't follow them or whatever.

I stay very clear of those types of invites.

I don't even get the tells. Just the invites. Which tends to happen when I am afk and by the time I come back there's only a handful of seconds left before it expires.

yep! there are 2 fc's that are well known for doing that on my server seems 1 has stopped randomly inviting people. while the other keeps on going. it's even funnier when they boast about their huge fc and having 500 players when 90% of them are inactives that played a day and quit xD

Ha! I think someone may have read this thread because I got 2 more invites since posting and one ... almost word for word sent a /tell with what I typed.

I think you may be right Vivi, just have a FC's bragging about numbers rather than quality.

I don't know why some people are so desperate to have any and every random stranger in their FC. At that point, its like, why even have a FC if you have no standards? Just use /shout or linkshells or whatever if you want the company of anyone and everyone.

If you get too many random invites you can report them for harassment. That was discussed in another thread waaaaaay back after initial launch.

Having a relatively new FC and finding it near impossible to find members I can understand why someone would resort to this if they are that determined to have their own fc but it does get quite annoying. Myself I am just waiting to see. Took me 2 yrs to build a ls in xi and we ended up running together with the same group for years.

A good fc is about quality not quantity

I've was blind invited before Joining one.

Also had blind LS invites.

i left my former FC for this... and a few other reasons. it felt like Hungry Hungry Hippos... eating up anyone without < >. and all of those ppl got put into Q like it was DF to even attempt some easy content. Not Quite 'a FC' (^_^
