iLVL for penta melded 2 star accessaries

I find myself often locked out of PF thanks to my low iLVL accessaries and my glove piece even though I am very capable of BC Turn 1 - 4 (5th turn I haven't tried yet)...

I hope SE plans to adjust iLVL of a crafted item depending on the melds and HQ status, because I honestly think my accessaries are BiS, or at least iLVL90 equivalent. (though my glove piece and leg+feet pieces need upgrade, to allagan... which I haven't been lucky enough to see them drop)

I could easily settle for Myth items for the rest of my gear slots which are hardly BiS just to achieve higher avg iLVL - but that seems counter intuitive as iLVL != BiS.

What are your thoughts on this?

Or you can send a tell to the party finder leader and tell them you got crafted accessories? Automatic system is not gonna be able to tell how good your melds are or how it is relevant.

Well, that's kind of what I have been doing. But I think increasing iLVL depending on HQ and the level of materia melded shouldn't be too difficult to implement (and it makes sense to implement it IMHO). Something along the line of HQ = iLVL+5 and materia IV = iLVL + 2 so on.
I'm asked about my iLVL often enough that I have grown tired of having to explain that I have melded accs...

MM, I could also join a party as ilevel 90 with full Mythology left side, and healer right side. That flaw is exploitable with the current system too. It always boils down to trusting your party members aren't switching to derp gear.

Ultimately, you could buy (or now, just farm) higher iLevel items, and then just use those items to join the PF, then swap to BiS.

The problem with penta-melded i70 is they have less, sometimes a lot less, of your job's primary attribute...which can hamper your ability. No crafted i70 are BiS for that reason. At most, they can be considered i75...but at the same time, compare Moogle weapons to Garuda to see the difference between i70 and i75. The Moogles have more damage and primary attributes, which is the big factor in the ilv increase (yes, they have more secondary attributes too, but that's also part of the ilv increase and not really as important as increasing STR or VIT).
Since you can throw any materia, no matter how useless, on a crafted/meldable item, you can't increase the ilv just because something is melded. What if I penta-melded something with resistance materia to bump its ilv...would you consider me better or worse for "wasting" the item?


You also have i55 gauntlets...that really need replacing...

I disagree. People seem to underestimate the importance of having determination.

From what I've researched and experienced first hand, primary stats for Warrior is VIT and DET > parry > rest. And I have them covered all nicely while having 481 raw acc. Having higher HP pool is nice but I do believe damage mitigation (parry + dex + str) + determination outweighs the difference.

For my gauntlets, if you compare stats between DL piece and Myth piece, there is really no real incentive to switch to those for me. Heavy Allagan Gauntlet is the real upgrade though and I continue to run BC in hopes one day I will see it drop.

All that parry and damage mitigation simply give you more effective hit points. Real hit points also count as effective hit points. Have you actually done the math to see which setup provides more effective hit points? I'd personally side with the i90 gear.

Well Determination also gives me higher healing potency.
If you look back prior to patch 2.1, warriors were suffering because we only had higher HP pool but no damage mitigation. For that exact same reason, I will take higher damage mitigation over slightly higher HP pool any day.

I know you cannot automatically enter, but when most of those parties setup the Ilvl minimum (typically 80) it is to keep the all darklight including darklight weapon people out. However if you message the one who created the party finder, they can check you and determine if they would let you join.

I know in my case I would quick glance at your gear and my eyes would go straight to you hands and say no you need to gear up. I understand they are pentamelded but those hands really stand out as subpar. That is on quick glance without checking your materia.

It may seriously be a thought to do some CT to get the hands replaced.

As far as increasing Ilvl I would have to say no. There are too many variances of what people could put into the gear and people would abuse it causing me to have to kick members before we even get started. Until you do an upgrade to the rest of the gear (not including the accessories). You are going to have to ask.
You can still have Ilvl80 with those accessories (I am Ilvl 80 using those plus a Vanya hand and CT body) for my WHM.

Please replace the hands, they stand out so bad many leaders that check you will say no before even exploring your gear just by seeing those hands, they are the 1st thing I noticed and stick out like sore thumb.

With the tank buffs now, having extra STR over next "tier" is useless, unless you're going for a DPS-OT build.
