Heavensturn-Why no Chocobo Hat?

This picture clearly shows both the horse head kabuto,
and the chocobo head hat.
Why is it that we do get the horse head kabuto,
but we do not get the chocobo head hat for this event?
I would really love the chocobo head hat more.

We can also buy dragon head kabuto and rabbit head kabuto
not mentioned in the event story at all,
but still no chocobo head hat. Why?

Because there is no year of the chocobo. 2014 is the year of the horse. The other kabutos are from the old events 2011-2012 except the snake kabuto, because the 2013 new year event was dropped (server shutdown).

In 1.0 you got the chocobo hat from the chocobo caravan achievement (which don't exist in ARR sadly).
Maybe SE bring later a new chocobo content with the chocobo hat as a reward.

That explains it, though the artwork for the holiday is a bit decieving, since there is a chocobo hat in it.

I saw the image and immediately noted the ninjas and samurai.... then got excited. Then I cried a little.

Deceiving? On the page the picture is taken from there is a list of the Event Rewards, clear as day... OK, you could look at it and go "Maybe we'll get the Chocobo Mask as a reward!", but then you'd be just as able to go "Oh boy! The Fuma set will be a reward from this event!", since there are two Lalafell wearing it...

I agree with you but ,one thing is set in the foreground next to the actual reward, while the two others are set in the background. It's not as undeceiving as your making it out to ... man what have Internet forums done to me?

Anyway I guess the point of the picture after doing the event is the idea of like Chocobo Vs. Horse. Hopefully we'll see the Chocobo helmet again.

I was kinda hoping the Fraternal Order of Chocowackers' Chief Chocowacker was going to give me a Chocobo Mask to wear while speaking to the Uma Bugyo. But then again, SE created a whole chocobo suit already, so who knows when we'll be seeing that. (Maybe when we start raising our own?)

This seems to be an in-joke they keep pulling on us. There's this promotional piece announcing the new event featuring someone in the chocobo suit prominently displayed next to the person with the horse kabuto.
In the 2.0 pre-release artwork one of the background images they gave us had someone holding up a chocobo helm excitedly like they had just acquired it.
In the 2.1 preview video one of the beast tribe daily quests was someone wearing the Chocobo suit.

I wish I did enough caravans in 1.0 to get the chocobo mask
