Gear Swap tickets

When you misbuy a piece of gear, you can put a ticket in to use your "One Time Only" gear swap. A GM logs in and trades you the right item etc...

However... I've done this twice and canceled both of them because it takes them up to 2 months to respond to the ticket.

Whats the point. If I misbuy gear today and put a ticket in and it isn't responded to for 6+ weeks chances are I will have fixed that myself via myth farming by then. E.g. I bought the hands when I meant to buy the boots for my warrior because I was pondering between the two and go dislexic for a minute. I put a ticket in, but two weeks later I just bought the boots ne ways so now I don't need the swap.

What's the point if it takes so long to respond?

Well if they did respond quickly, more people will make that mistake I suppose. And maybe they have higher issues to deal with. A list of priorities.

For those who used to play Rift, they may take a page from their book.

For gear swap tickets for them, they'd wait 2 weeks and send you a message:
"Oh well, you should have replaced that item by now! Happy Hunting!"

To which, I'd reply: "No I haven't" and then they would say: "Oh, that's too bad, time limit has expired for this item and/or you did not have the item on your person at the possible time of transfer. Ticket closed! Thank you for playing Rift!"

i also had that problem a week ago. it took me less than 24h to get a response and my new item...

If your logged in all the time I could see this. But I'm only logged in after peak hours US Time, e.g. 8pm+ and almost never get a response.

i was not. got my response while being offline and my item via moogle mail. ;)

Was it a high value item? If so then fair enough, try your luck. If not then I'd just re-list it.

so i can buy an item now, check how it looks and if i dont like it, i can swap it? awesome :D

The onus is really on the players here to not make such mistakes... it's more than I'd expect for them to even be willing to swap it, especially when the CS teams will have far more important things to deal with.
