For those who didn't know how amazing summoner summons were in XI. I ran into these great vids and just wanted to share.

Yeah, fond are my memories of being stuck as a sub-par WHM in leveling groups because the avatars were too costly to keep out for what damage they dealt.

That was Tanakas doing lol. It's all fixed .

you can have RDM sub for refresh, or SCH sub for Sublimination to keep mp up.

The only thing the XIV summoner has done is make me want to play a real summoner. I miss Summoner.

Ffxi summoner is top notch and executed correctly right down to the primals. Ffxiv arr summoner is the laughing stock of all summoners and it's summons in all of ff series.

XIV summoners are so lame. I hate everything about it. using a book as weapon and those Egis....

My best memories were camping for Yinyang robe, and fighting Fenrir the first time.

My favorite summoner memory was finishing the XI quest and seeing the rainbow over the crag heh.

XI did do it right. ARR, not so much. I actually changed one of my characters "main" from being a summoner because in ARR, imo, it just plain sucks compared to XI. Tried changing it to tank but realized I hated it in ARR. I think Dragoon may be my next choice since I already have a BLM "main" and an archer "main" character. (yes I play 3 characters because I like storing more stuff *cough cough*)

Well, FFXI is still alive and kicking, and November + December update will bring plethora of content to that game. So there is no reasons for you not to go back and play that other game. SMN in FF14 is different for sure, it feels like playing a rdm + sch + bst all thrown in together and mixed with a small hint of summoner. Definitely NOT a SMN job we all know and love....but not too terrible either :)
