How you all doing?

So, that LIMITED Job, Beast Master, boy howdy. Looks a lot like what you all should be. Having your summon out, switching out, getting to use all your summons plus more from all the adventures you all had, all those primals you've seen.

Real talk though, Beast Master looks more like summoner then actual Summoner Job.
Crazy.

How have you all not been raging over this? Looks a LOT like the job rework you should of got.

“The Warrior of Light is considering an acting career at the Gold Saucer.”

I think we need a “test your reflexes” mode, and possibly relive the cinematic moments of each expansion, like a first person mode identical to FFXV, but moving through obstacles and fighting enemies at an alarming pace…thus, “testing your reflexes”

For ARR, I was thinking of having a Warrior battle through the Garlean Army during the appearance of Bahamut.

For HW, I was thinking of having the dragoon jump off other dragons and dodging obstacles while still striking. Your reaction time will measured.

For SB, it would be Lyse fighting against the Garlean army again, in a Monk fighting style at high pace.

Cinema Theatre Mode (Gold Saucer)

This could also be added in a Cinema theatre mode at the Gold Saucer…if you will…maybe the warrior of light has taken on an acting career and now they find themselves as the stunt doubles in these films :)

Also, it would be an interesting alternative high pace mode for a mobile version covering these expansions.

Your thoughts?

My Beef with Eureka/Bozja/Occult/Etc...

I get that FFXI has fans, and Eureka was nice to try, So I did and based on the community I wound up hating it. I de-leveled at least seven times Two in Pagos, Once in Pyros, and Four in Hydatos. I never finished that relic because I hated how when I called out for help, the thing that I had established for myself in my early ARR life (I joined 2014, so about Sycrus Tower) as a sign of commuinity was completely removed from any ounce of recognizably in this style of content. Enemies were MUCH harder, You practically needed to be in a party, which for the most part I was, but when my first instance of K.O. happened and I called out, all I got was "Sorry, too busy with this NM. XD " Nobody Came. The timer went and I deleveled. I felt dejected, ruined even because I had lost levels in a game that, normally outside of OWE Content, would not penalize you for even dying; retaining your levels outside was what I knew...

This doesn't mean the gimmick is bad per say- Like I mentioned earlier; There ARE FFXI fans in this game, those that love that playstyle and Gimmick and for me to simply go "GET RID OF EUREKA/BOZJA/OC NOW!" would just not be ideal in any regard.

You want casuals TRUELY interested Read Closely...

Ditch the EXP mechanic and the Maps smaller. Yes it's true. More players would be willing to give it a try if they could just simply go in and die with no worry as to exp loss while trying to zoom across the map. ARR had smaller zones that had mobs packed closer together, Guards that defend the gates of towns, Fates Near or in towns, pathways that looked traveled with more NPC's instead of literal barren wastelands that are war torn, forgotten, and somehow tied to a tower. Where Relics made you roam around the world, finding enemies to slay, fates to do, and dungeons to run to work on the relic. Don't get me wrong, bigger maps ARE nice- but they're too big and make the world feel dead.

Lasting Thoughts

Open World Exploration Content in XIV is in need of an Overhaul.

No Exp Loss to draw XIV fans back to XI style content

Smaller Maps with more worldly things to do, not just fates.

Make Relics Tied to the Main Game (and not "Tied" to OWE Content) Like in ARR.

We want reform, not repeat.

i'm going to preface this by saying that I personally think these collab deals SQEX does with other companies for in game items are always terrible....

i'm going to preface this by saying that I personally think these collab deals SQEX does with other companies for in game items are always terrible. the Grub Hub collab stands out in particular as a notoriously bad example. and i honestly feel this upcoming Jollibee collab is going to be another fine example of why they really shouldn't do this stuff.

i've done some digging, for me personally the closest Jollibee is over 100 miles away, across state lines, which is just unreasonable for an in game emote. and looking up complex (why wasn't this site linked anywhere in the lodestone promo page?) shows some kind of high end pop culture fashion page, with clothing going for anywhere between $70 to over $300, which just sounds criminal.

are the clothes they want the folks to buy who can't access a Jollibee who want the emote going to cost $70? are they expecting us to cough up $300 on a hoodie, while some guy at a Jollibee spends a mere fraction of that on some chicken?

I know folks have strong feelings regarding the cash shop, and personally I'd rather just have the emote be an in game reward, but if they have to have us spend money on it I would rather have it be the cash shop, where there isn't all this added bull crap.

Hello friends,

I have an idea for fashion accessories that are baskets...
For example a open basket that you carry and holds flowers, sweets, food, drinks or other knicknacks.

In my opinion it would add a lot of fashion and roleplay aspects to the game and people carrying stuff around makes the game feel more "alive". (flower girls at weddings, handing out/getting flowers or sweets while having the basket in hand and such)

I have no idea hard it would be to implement something like that but it's smilar to umbrellas but just beneath instead above, isn't it?

Much love from cookie lover and sharer,

SE Needs To Remove Kills For Scores in Frontline

I am huge enjoyer of PVP in FF14. The music, the combat, the working effort as a team. Yet I need to say this plainly...PVP especially Frontlines is...

I am huge enjoyer of PVP in FF14. The music, the combat, the working effort as a team. Yet I need to say this plainly...PVP especially Frontlines is thoroughly being ruined by teams being able to win by acquiring points for the match with kills. In every MMO I have played from WoW, SWTOR, GW2 and ESO...this is not the standard.

Now before anyone says "but X MMO has kills per points as well", no they don't in the exact or similar frame that FF14 does. For WoW, you have AV yet its primary winning factor is killing the NPC bosses while player kills only reduce reinforcement...yes this matter, but not in the scale of winning via boss elimination. Winning via loss of reinforcement have only around 10-20% of WoW AV when 80-90% are done from kill boss objectives. If you have done Alterac Valley, you know I am right.

As for other MMOs, kill count for wins in PVP are also incredibly minimum/rare. Don't believe me, google online the large scale battlezones each MMO has and look at what wins matches...it is not PVP kills.

So what is my point, when you have Frontline PVP where 99% of your team is more worried about losing their in match PVP rank, the kill count, or the many who use illegal third party mods for auto callouts anyone can see used on Youtube...something has to be done. SE needs to alter the way these matches are scored. My suggestion, only capture points count for your teams scores or only kills done in a area for capture are counted for your team's score. Here is my logic:
1. It stops other teammates from running from a battle in order to not lose their Frontline rank.
2. It helps ensure fights happen at capture points and not on roads or paths that do nothing to help your team win. These will still happen, but way less.
3. It ensures that its not about the individual player that matters in PVP...but the team. If other PVPers want to worry about the "me", then SE should design a 1v1 PVP event for those players with a competent reward system.

PVP should always be about helping your team win by capture or objectives, not kills. This change would also reduce the need/use of illegal callout mods that clearly can be seen used in PVP matches.
(I already know as always that many will backlash my post for such a suggestion since either they will have issue with being called out for using illegal mods, them being ego players who only care about killing other players so they can "own them", or those so intwined with the status quo that they counter any who mentions change)

We need to get FF14 on ESPN. If Inazuma Eleven and Resident Evil 6 can get an article on ESPN, FF14 should be able to get one article with contacting the ESPN staff, and I feel Square Enix should be pursuing this if they are truly trying to market their products.

ESPN is starting to review not only sport games but also games like Grand Theft Auto and other genres. I think both Square Enix and ESPN could mutually benefit from working with each other.

>>"While I do appreciate the offer, unfortunately we are unable to accept links outside the game as evidence for an investigation as we are only...

>>"While I do appreciate the offer, unfortunately we are unable to accept links outside the game as evidence for an investigation as we are only allowed to investigate inside the game."

Why did I hear this from a GM when reporting a racist, homophobic & aggressively toxic parser?

To preface this: I get people can be awful degenerates without so much of a push, but sometimes people need to be censured for the good of the community.

I contacted this GM just to see about reporting a specific player from Aether who rampantly stalks, harasses & slings slurs towards other XIV players on social media like X/Twitter, the slurs often being of their race or sexuality, as well as blatantly flaunting prohibited behaviour like raid parses as justification for their behaviour.
Like, that's generally shitty & moderation worthy behaviour...right?
And there's literally no way that this player's behaviour does not bleed into their in-game activity...right?

But no. Why are GMs restricted from investigating circumstances like these, even if only in a targeted capacity? I'm not talking about GMs roaming twitter looking for sus gposes & the like, but actual hateful behaviour from detractors in the community, that people bring to the GM team that is targeted towards the game's playerbase. I provided them with everything to chase this issue down to the wick - Identifying info for both in-game & their Twitter account, showing that they are run by the same person, examples of their ToS breaking actions...but again - it's off-game, can't do anything.

That makes no sense.

Here, we have a malicious entity that is flagrantly breaking the game's ToS with vile & reprehensible behaviour as well as blatantly flaunting the 'Don't ask, don't tell' dynamic between Us & the Devs that has lately been sorely tested one way or the other. And all cause they are rampantly racist & homophobic, and feel the need to use prohibited activities to justify it...but because they do it on social media whilst SINGLING OUT OTHER XIV PLAYERS makes the issue impossible to investigate? Meanwhile every day they are free to do this they are actively impacting the game's image & player base with their unprovoked, cancerous hate & racism?

It is an issue to me that such a glaringly flagrant loophole in the ToS exists. One that probably shouldn't be ignored, right?

Suffice it to say - My disappointment is immeasurable...and my day is ruined. IYKYK.

Hey all, I wanted to ask a question.

I know Ironmouse has played ff14 on stream, and says they enjoy the game, but I cant help but wonder why they have given her a panel at fanfest? Shes not an ff streamer, she doesnt make ff content. It feels very... performative?

I may be incredibly wrong, and wondered other peoples opinions on it.

I just think that if you were gonna give a panel to anyone, theres a TON of ff14 dedicated creators that do wonderful things with their community.

I know shes going to preform a song and thats.. alright. But having Ironmouse on the dev lyric writing panel is gobsmaking to me. I wanted to hear the devs talk about writing the songs, not a content creator.

Unless shes got a new song in the new patch or expac this feels incredibly redundant and insulting.

I suppose I can use the time shes doing her panel to do the floor events but still...

Am I alone in this? this feels.. super weird.
