As a software developer myself, I know that if you allow someone to have API access to your game, that is a vector to perform a Denial of Service attack. I also know that Real Money Traders benefit from having unlimited access to changing market board prices more easily than the in game interface allows.

That said, Ventures are already rate limited. I am recently returning, and ventures at the level I have access to are an hour long. You can't do more than 24 transactions a day without abandoning the previous one. Ventures also require an in game currency to enact, which means that ventures can't be started, canceled, and restarted to enact a denial of service as easily.

I propose that the Companion App be allowed to use Venture credits to start Ventures, just as you do in game. Yes, Kupo nuts are much more limited, and yes, Mog Coins restrict the interest of real money traders, but I think the more dangerous of the two major activities in the app are the marketplace traders. Of course, I would suggest that you put this option behind the premium function of the app to lower likelihood of farming abuse by real money traders. I would happily add the companion app premium rate to my account specifically for this upgrade.

As it is, the Companion App loses much of it's interest to me. The big appeal for me is being able to send my retainers on a venture while I'm at work and have a few minutes on my phone. I can have up to 11 retainers, two free, eight paid for, and one from the premium companion app. At best, Mog Coins are available at a rate of eight for a dollar. That means that if I want to max my retainers and renew their ventures every day at work, I'd use more than a dollar an hour to keep them running. I find this unacceptable, and I think most others would, too. This proposed change will likely draw more use of the companion app and result in more upgrades to premium, which will be a benefit for the company in the long run.

We've recently run into a thief in Hyperion who joins Free Companies just to steal whatever they can from the chest and leave. Not just skimming or a slow bleed either, we're talking up to 9999 of each and every crystal, shard, and cluster in the span of five minutes. And we have confirmation that this individual has stolen from another free company recently in the exact same way.

We have record of them doing this via FC Chest History, we have chat logs of their joining and leaving, and we have an exact name on-server to identify the character. So... even if our materials can't be recovered - which is understandable, we're replacing the stolen materials anyway - why can't the perpetrator be punished for griefing when theft is demonstrably done on the scale of millions of gil in value? I don't want this happening to other FCs, but our only defenses at the moment seem to be more restrictive permissions that harm the majority of our membership or straight-up word of mouth blacklisting of the thief among on-server FCs.

This sort of behavior means we can't just offer sprouts and new sign-ons access to shards as a service of the FC without inconvenient middle management or thorough vetting, despite operating that way for months without issue until now. If it's infrequent enough for that to be the case, with only one perpetrator in that long of a span, I have a tough time understanding how they can just get away with that and make it more difficult for us to help other players. I know that's only anecdotal, but I haven't seen or heard tell of such occurrences being any more frequent.

Like, are we just letting this be a lucrative way for thieves to get millions of gil by harming FCs? I had actually gotten my first message while heating up food, so I missed it, but he waited for several minutes, long enough for me to get back to him.
He was polite, and helpful enough to even let me know that my separate reports of two players, in the same incident, could be folded into one. Once I provided the information, he even closed the ticket without my need to do so!

I managed to free up some money and figured I'd go ahead and at least for the month get all my retainers back, sort some things, may sell stuff - at least have a little more storage for a bit - only to on checkout notice the price before continuing to go back and see it's how long I have game time left.

I could do the 14 for 30 days, and then maybe be able to do it again in 30 days on my limited income - can't do the 35 dollar chunk it'd be.
