I'm playing FFXIV on a high-end gaming PC and everything looks pretty good, aside from these cliffs in Kholusia which are incredibly pixelated and blurry for some unfathomable reason. I've messed around with pretty much every graphics option in the game but nothing works. Here are some screenshots of the cliffs in their degraded state. They look perfectly normal when you go close enough (as seen in Screenshot #3) but utterly atrocious when far away:<br />

Completely normal! So what on earth could be going on that makes the cliffs in Kholusia look so pixelated and messy?<br />

I have <b>tried every solution online including making 2 virtual controllers with added 3% deadzones</b> (still insanely low but enough so that my stick doesn't drift) but<b> the game overrides it to raw input every time I launch it</b>. I think it's raw input cause it's so low, it's less than 2% anyway which is totally ridiculous. <br />
<br />
In game there are 2 settings for stick sensitivty. <b>The movement stick sensitivity setting adds a deadzone the higher the slider goes, while the camera sensitivity setting does not.</b> (having a high sensitivity leading to drift is not the problem I am having, my sensitivity is at a low 20 BECAUSE of the drifting) <b><u>I actually think this is a bug because it's meant to be the other way around.</u></b> For reference, my <b><u>5 month old</u></b> controller's right stick is sitting at 2% off axis and it's drifting. <b>Majority of games have a default deadzone of 7-10%</b>... over 5% at least for all of them with controller support I think because I have never experienced stick drifting in any game period (except for genuinely time worn ones which has nothing to do with software of course) My desk even has a built in bracket for a controller after all I am a scholar I take great care of my tools... :D <br />
<br />
I have never in the <b>12 years</b> I've had a computer run into a problem where there is simply nothing I can do on my end after trying over the course of hours to remedy it. <b><u>Buying a new controller will fix it for a few months and then the stick drift will be back again so ultimately it will fix nothing.</u></b> The deadzone is simply unrealistically low there is no way this is intended by the developers. <br />
<br />
I've put over 1000 hours in this game since 2015 I know from the quality of the game and the sheer amount of freedom you have customising your experience that it is NOT meant to be this way. <b>The camera and movement settings are the wrong way around.</b> The deadzone that is added to movement must have been meant for the camera setting. <br />
<br />
The only reason I think this is because <b>there is no setting for deadzone at all which obviously is intended by the devs</b> as<b> disappointing and confusing</b> as that is considering <b>7-10% deadzone being the industry standard and that they have bolstered the fact there is controller support and controller hud layouts with many controller orientated settings</b>.  But the fact movement has a deadzone makes me believe a mistake has been overlooked because it makes no sense to tie a deadzone to the sensitivy of your movement BUT not the same with aiming which effects scrolling for menus too, making this easily fixable and overlooked problem incredibly unbareable to deal with.<br />
<br />
Dawntrail is out, 1000s of new players will be joining the fun and 1000s will be returning, many of which will have physical inhibitions like myself and use controller. IF they care enough to still want to play and try solve it they will go through the exact same frustrating process I have just went through that got me absolutely no where. Please. Address this issue it has been a problem for years! Often the menus are unnavigable because camera input cancels out dpad in menu and it's so frustrating. <b><u>It shouldn't even be a problem in the first place.</u></b></div>

I am at my wits end trying to figure out these odd frame drop/lag spikes that have cropped up on 5/10/26. About every 30 seconds to a minute, I have a short burst of lag that lasts about a second that causes the game to stutter and drop frames (roughly 20-30). I had no issues playing the game in the morning on Sunday but all of a sudden into the night, these frame stutters have started to appear. These stutters don't coincide with any particular action and happen randomly no matter if I am running about, in a dungeon or browsing the marketboard. They also only happen within FFXIV as I haven't noticed the issue in any other game I have tested. I have checked through task manager and network and there are no noticeable spikes in CPU/Memory/Ethernet/GPU/Network/Ping when these spikes occur that would point to a bottleneck anywhere. Any help or suggestions is appreciated as I am running out of options to try and I can't reliable run any duties until it is fixed. Thank you so much for your help! I play on the Crystal servers.<br />

<li>Downgraded to multiple older Nvidia drivers and tested each one</li>
<li>Manually installed newer Nvidia drivers and tested</li>
<li>Watched event viewer and there is no errors or warnings created when the lag hits.</li>
<li>Turned off Device Association Root Enumerator</li>
<li>Tried different variations of turning on/off VSync through Nvidia Control Panel and Nvidia app</li>
<li>Matched Display Frame Rate/Capped it at 60/Capped it at 30</li>
<li>Checked Tracert for any ISP issues</li>
<li>Set 3D Resolution Scaling to 99</li>
<li>Tried to set UI to High Resolution</li>
<li>Connected ALL USB accessories</li>
<li>Unplugged VR Headset and unplugged 2nd Monitor</li>
<li>Disabled USB Selective Suspend Setting</li>
<li>Turned off all Power Saving options in Advanced Settings</li>

<br />
System Configuration says 60fps, but the game looks &quot;framey&quot;/poor frame pacing. It did get a little better after the 05/07/2026 update but it still happens sometimes.<br />
<br />
Switching to full-screen mode (Which I dislike so much, it's uncomfortable :() drastically reduced how often it occurs, but before the update borderless was working fine.<br />

I reached out to support and have already tried everything they had recommended. Disabling anti-virus, running as admin, changing resolutions. I have reinstalled the game twice and restored it 4-5 times from the launcher. The last thing they said was to try running it on DirectX 9, my computer is currently running DirectX 12. Is there anyway to set just this game up to try and run DirectX 9 or 11? Or would I need to download 11 and have my pc run that for everything and overwrite 12 somehow?</div>

Frequency: Before 7.5, never. After 7.5, every time. After trying the suggested steps from customer support, I now can't even start the game - After pressing play on the launcher, it pops up, but while the screen is still black it crashes and I get the text in Japanese along with the same ffxiv_dx11.exe +1DDE241 thing.<br />
Before I tried the steps to &quot;fix&quot; it, I could access other dungeons. Just not that particular one.<br />

This only started today after my father, who I share an IP with, tried to login after not playing for a while, I was able to login yesterday just fine. <br />
<br />
I've looked high and low for what the problem could possibly be but have yet to see anything that could help.</div>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div>I don't know if this is a bug or a feature ;)   But when i'm doing dungeons, including daily MSQ as healer, i sometimes lose focus. It happens when zoning while inside a dungeon, but often also after a cutscene.<br />
<br />
That can be a problem if you use macro's that are cast on focus (eg : tank), since they no longer work after zoning/cutscenes.</div>

ive tried updating drivers, reinstall drivers, disabling overlays, running the game as administrator, i even brought my pc in for a repair check and it came back with all software and hardware in great shape with nothing wrong. windows is updated, and ive tryed reinstalling the game multiple times with no success.<br />
