Ok, I HOPE Someone from SE support will read this and FINALLY get my issue fixed, because 2 months of this shit going on is ridiculous.
I CANNOT REACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT. This all started after I switched credit cards in the middle of April where we had that free month.
So come billing cycle for the month of May, I get the standard, "you need to pay your overdue fees". Not a big deal as this has happened to me before. So I go in, pay for March, but forgot to put a check box in the April box, even tho it says $0.00. I SUCCESSFULLY paid for March. Once done, I go back in to pay for April, and it gives me the error..
"UCS - 5001. The server is busy. Please try again later".
Not a problem as I know that the billing cycle just completed and the servers can get congested. So I try again the next day. Still same problem. I contact support and they said it can take several days for the congestion to be cleared. So I wait 2 days. Try again, same thing. I get someone who doesn't know what they're talking about technical-wise. Not uncommon as I know that quite a few people who work in call centers actually don't know what they're talking about. But they escalate it.
Now since I had nothing to do in the meantime, I decided to do some research and saw that quite a few people got this error code. And it was cleared up in a day. So I'm getting alittle pissed because it's not being cleared up for me. But just to be sure, I try to cover all my basis technology wise on my end.
This is what I've done.
1.) Uninstalled/reinstalled POL viewer from the CD AND the download link provided on the website. Result: DOES NOT WORK
2.) Disabled my firewall and AV. Result: DOES NOT WORK
3.) Uninstalled my AV. Result: DOES NOT WORK
4.) Uninstalled FFXI COMPLETELY from my system and reinstalled it (which took the better part of 20 hours). Result: STILL NOT WORKING.
5.) Tried 2 different cards in my name: Result: DOES NOT WORK.
6.) Tried on a different machine of mine: Result: DOES NOT WORK.
7.) Tried on a different machine in a different state using a different ISP: DOES NOT WORK.
8.) Tried my friends credit cards in case it's something wrong with mine: DOES NOT WORK.
I have contacted POL support 45 out of the last 50 days. I have DOZENS of ticket numbers in my account. And about 12 of them have been "escalated to the Engineers" since May 4th. It is now June 18th. I STILL CAN'T REACTIVATE MY ACCOUNT. There isn't a problem on my end as I have 2 alt accounts that I have that I can still log into no problem and even update payment information. So it's NOTHING wrong on my end. It's on the servers end.
GET THIS FIXED!!!
I've been playing this game now for 9 loyal years. Never have I defunct over to WoW like so many other people have but now it's starting to cross my mind.
Everytime that I call POL support, they refuse to give me a supervisor to get this issue resolved.
