Back in the olden days the best we could hope for information-wise about FFXI was "The person in charge of that isn't here today", "We'll take that back to Japan with us", "It's working as intended", "We cannot answer questions about that", or if we were really, really lucky, we would get a really vague answer that didn't really answer the question. (Was anyone else around back when Steam Cleaner wouldn't pop, and Raise III was driven up to 4-5 million gil a scroll because Kirin was the main source for it? "We changed the pop conditions", indeed.) The amount of communication that we have now has floored the people I know who quit back in the CoP/ToAU days when it was like pulling teeth to find out anything about something or something about anything.

I consider the Community Team to be saints, because I would have yelled at everyone to get off of the forums and told the Devs to shut down the game because everyone is obviously incredibly unhappy with it if I had to deal with a quarter of the whining that they have to read. (Except with a lot of swearing peppered in. And I mean a lot. Possibly in exotic, foreign languages to be able to get more variety.)

My point is, be happy with what we have here because the Community Team is actually listening. Sure, things could be better, but things were a lot worse not too long ago and they got better because the people in charge decided to listen. If they hear nothing but "everything sucks and you will never make it any better ever", there is no reason to keep the the lines of communication open.

Also, if I ever meet the Community Team, I will give them cookies.
