You're already proving that people are more likely to click it if you address it to them just by allowing the thread to exist.
For us, this is probably true. But the community team has specifically said they cannont respond to threads asking for their response.

So trying to get their attention by tagging threads with anything other than the tags they tell us to use has no purpose.

Hey look, wanna'be moderator strikes again. People can continue to post how they wish until a GM says otherwise, how about that.

I'm not a "wannabe moderator." I simply don't want threads with good ideas to get glossed over because people begged for dev attention in the topic title. I'm sure you, like anyone else, would want to hear what SE thinks about your ideas.

Not to mention, putting [DEV 100x] IN THE TAG is what you are supposed to do, putting it in the title is just obnoxious.

    1) Make a good thread
    2) title it with something breif that makes sense and covers your point
    3) insert a [dev 100x] tag to the bottom in the tag section IF there is something remotely related to your post
    4) pray for a 'thumbs down' button to stop obvious trolls.

Tagging sounds like a great idea. I wonder why I got the impression the sticky said that it was good to have it in the title, while missing the part about putting it in the tags.

It's good to use a Dev tag if there is a Dev tag that actually relates to the topic at hand. Corsair adjustments, HNM/KS99 adjustments, and Dynamis adjustments tags were generally used properly.

It's not good to waste people's time using a Dev tag related to Dynamis or Abyssea HNM to complain about Dark Knight, Summoner, Spirits, or EXP leeching.

Personally, I think this thread has views not because of its title tag, but because the content has merit to a lot of people. That's what's important in a thread, the content. You should never need a big flashing neon sign to advertise a legitimate concern that many people share, because if it is a legitimate concern that many people share it's going to be receiving views and replies anyways.

All those neon signs do is make it harder for the Community Team to, essentially, do their jobs.

The problem is of course when 10 years has passed and SE hasn't even touched the topic. Spirits for example will never get a devtag of their own because SE has forgotten they exist. First you have to spam their forum long enough for them to notice it.

Same with Summoner armors... 10 years of adding 3 armor sets. You'll just have to grab whatever devtags are around and spam them. Because SE are too dumb to see what is a problem, and what is just people complaining they aren't the most popular job in the game.

Spamming is never, ever a viable and effective means of getting a legitimate point across.

In a game which thrives on specialization, Summoner and other Pet Hybrid jobs will always be second class in group settings. They're unique, fun jobs that absolutely cannot and will not ever be able to match individual aspects with a pure class. Summoner will never outdamage a Warrior, outheal a White Mage, or outbuff a Bard. But it can Damage, Heal, and Buff if it wants.

That is the premise of the job. The players may never desire it simply because that premise conflicts with what players actually want in a job. That is, specialization in a single role which they can perform optimally. I don't need someone who can B-class DD, while B-class healing, or B-class buffing. I need someone who can fill a designated role in my party. If that is Damage, I want a Damage class. If that is healing, I want a healing class. If that is buffing, I want a buffing class.

Summoner will never be "Super dooper popular" simply because hybrid jobs are NOT popular in group settings. Deal with that fact and move on quickly, or you will simply end up embittered and angry at the Devs till the servers shut down. One thing people love to leave out is the fact that Hybrid jobs, while significantly less useful in group situations, are extremely potent solo. Summoner, Beastmaster, Puppetmaster, and Red mage are all very, very adept soloists. So what if two hyper-specialized people can kill a lot of the same things? That is still a group setting, and that is the entire point.

Summoner aside, spamming forums and using neon signs to try and highlight a point still just shows that the point itself is weak and not worth looking at on merit alone. That is never the impression you want to give someone, whether your point is actually weak or not.
