People expected a mob that poped once every 72 hour would have a high drop rate on the pop item.

Actually, this update is garbage, the only thing this update really helps out is MNKs which SE have seemingly been giving everything to. Lets take an overall look at the population shall we? The majority of people do NOT care at all about kings. Only MNKs do. Now I know people will try to argue with me but thats the fact, the only people that really care about this at all are the people that leveled MNK.
In my honest opinion it would have been better for AF seals+2 items because I'm sorry to say to the dev team, they SUCK at making balanced drop rates. They can not try to tell me that the seal drop rates on NMs are balanced. I will break it down for one very simple factor, People in this game will always take the shortest easiest road to obtain the items they need. So regardless of how many NMs drop seals people in this game will ALWAYS farm the easiest one to kill. They don't care at all if a small group is trying to camp a NM, SE expect them to move to a stronger one for their target seal? No, they wont they will just over camp you. I have seen this happen a LOT so no one can try to claim it doesn't.
Also another thing Gukumatz for example is Over camped by people farming sobek so if someone needs seals from that NM a lot of the times the LS killing it wont even let them have the seals and will down right ignore requests for it.
So I think it would have been much better to include at least an AF3+1 seal exchange of a similar kind.
Very little of the population cares about seals/crests related to BCNMs.
SE needs to be more original with content, because spreading the same content and copying it everywhere isn't going to keep people playing for very long. STOP WITH WEAKNESS TARGETING! It is NOT that good of a concept!
If you don't like what I say, that's fine, you don't have to. But don't think that I care if you agree with me or not. Soooo... if you don't like what I say, don't reply, and move on with your life
This is extremely useful, now all those beastmen seals you aren't using can be exchanged to do higher tier BCs.. Did you really think that they meant you could trade in empyrean seals, especially when they threw the word "Crests" in there?
your lack of maturity here is without good reason.
The drop rates ARE balanced. It's your crappy luck if you get more of the likely 3 seals you don't want.they SUCK at making balanced drop rates.
With the huge number of unwanted seals some people get, do you really think it would be fair to be able to just trade any of them for the ones you want? No, you'd just kill the easiest NM and collect a jillion seals from it, and then trade em in for the one you want. Then, there would be bleepin' lines forming to kill that NM while all the others get ignored.
You're Wrong. lots of people do BCNMs. Some of the new ones in fact have quite desireable rewards. And even if you were right, it's not a good reason to fix something up that could use fixing.Very little of the population cares about seals/crests related to BCNMs.

A) Its garbage because it doesn't effect you and won't hurt/hinder you at all, but might help somebody else? Did I get that right?
B) I didn't realize that one particular seal dropped from one NM ever. I could have sworn that seals drop from at least 3 NMs, and from other sources (quests for one).
C) It gives reason for "outdated" content. I mean, if people didn't care anything about BS/KS, why would they store it in the NPC? Why not just toss it and be done with it?
We can split hairs all day on the definition of an HNM.
Point is, most of Nid/KB/Aspid drops are obsolete. Drops that take 10-15mins in Abyssea are superior or competitive to the pools these mobs have.
There is no reason to make obsolete NMs so exclusive when mostly what people want are Black Belt items. You have to put in at least 8hours of farming to get the 99 seals so I see no reason why the NQ mobs shouldn't have at least a 50%+ rate on giving you the HQ equivalents.
Old content is old. Who cares if Dring is made that much easier to get when Dark Rings have been competitive for months now.

Great little feature for those who care and collect seals. My social linkshell runs about a 25% drop rate on black belt items from KSNM99s over time. (Years, not one day) It is the way all our monks get their black belts as we are a social. Also, we have been running the new Kindred Crest battles once a week, its a nice break from Abyssea. Not sure why so many people complain about every little thing. I think SE has made a bunch of new tweaks that has made the game more enjoyable. Good job, SE.
Reading what people have to say on these forums often hurts my head.
First off, awesome update, anyone who says otherwise is just derp because they're all "QQ I wanted to exchange my AF3 +1 seals because they're SOOO hard to get!"
And those complaining about the drop rates from the whole ground kings situation, they're not that bad.
Sure, I miss the old way of just camping them since it wasn't all that difficult to do, but the new way isn't extremely terrible.
My LS, with about 6 people participating, managed to complete the Behemoth KS99 twice for 2 NQ pops, did that NQ twice with a THF for TH [only got to about TH6/7], got one pop for HQ, killed HQ and got a tongue.
The KS99 also dropped a tongue when we did it for pops. We had two happy MNKs that day.

random in this game just sucks that way. the drop rate % of older content is accounting for massive samples including some that went 1/1 and others that have goin 0/20+ on items. Either way, that figure continually evolves due to the nature of how it all works programatically.
Random for a computer is not a true roll of the dice like in the real world, it is actually run off a preset set of numbers generated when the hardware is fabricated. So if the programmers are saying a 10% win rate, that doesn't mean a strict 1/10 chance you will get the drop in FFXI--it means only 10% of the full range of your potential roll results will net you a win. If you get stuck in the algorythm at a point where that roll won't fall in that 10% range for 30 rolls even with any potential modifiers to your roll, well you are just SOL until that server gets out of that bad spot in the track. It's more an issue of timing than luck.
