Fact is, this change is great if you wanna do Ks99 for BB items cause really that's the only place you'll be getting them from now until SE makes the HQ spawn items reasonable.

We can split hairs all day on the definition of an HNM.

Point is, most of Nid/KB/Aspid drops are obsolete. Drops that take 10-15mins in Abyssea are superior or competitive to the pools these mobs have.

There is no reason to make obsolete NMs so exclusive when mostly what people want are Black Belt items. You have to put in at least 8hours of farming to get the 99 seals so I see no reason why the NQ mobs shouldn't have at least a 50%+ rate on giving you the HQ equivalents.

Old content is old. Who cares if Dring is made that much easier to get when Dark Rings have been competitive for months now.
