Sruon has it right. IIRC, the system SE uses for recording our levels is based on a 2-digit max system. Thus why we won't see level 100 for any job. It'd be nice, but I'd rather keep 99 as the cap for all jobs.

Actually this is somewhat justified. The English client (and possibly others) have their GUI's designed a very particular way, and fitting that extra digit in everywhere would be.. a bit of a hassle, especially considering it needs to conform to the PS2 version of the game (running at a very low resolution)..

Display limitations would prevent 100 from properly showing up in search and many game windows.
It's also probably intentional to block lv50 abilities from being subbable.
