So what are the gilmaker nowadays?

Hey guys since alot of prices went down, i just want to ask how to make good Gil nowadays, Cause the most expensive Things you can get in abyssea only, but i want to Farm them myself not in an abyssea Group so my question:

How i can make Gil without Group help? And which craft is worth it nowadays? Cause i have the Feeling, that you cant make good Gil with crafts anymore.how about digging Mining or harvesting? It Looks Bad also in this sector doesnt it? How about synergy? Any Statements or ideas? Allright have a nice Day guys...

Fishing is the only correct answer as a truly profitable craft, but only if you don't get bored easily and don't mind putting in the horrendous amount of hours necessary to start making huge gil (100 skill, Ebisu, Lu shang's, etc. Most fishermen I know just drink and/or watch tv while fishing).

As for general gil making, Abyssea. Cruor is worth its weight in gold. 400k~ Cruor is equivalent to over 1 million Gil if you buy items with Cruor then sell them to NPCs. Abyssea is practically a license to print free money.

As a life long THF and someone who gets extremely bored fast with crafting (my highest level craft is Alchemy and it's Lv8 and that's after 7 years of playing), I can say there are good ways to make gil even still as long as you do have THF leveled. I'm sure they will still work with /THF or even without THF (or perhaps BST with Dipper Yully), but THF makes it go a bit faster.

It isn't going to be like the old days though where you could just hit Zvahl and farm horns, Ahriman Wings, scrolls and those weapons the demons drops (they used to sell for so much). RMT ruined that along with other good money areas because they literally spent 24/7 doing those things and anyone that legitimately wanted an item from certain areas, just didn't have a shot.

Anyway here are a few of my suggestions:

    1) Yagudo in Oztroja - Bards, Ninjas and Black Mages up at the very top drop some nice scrolls. What doesn't sell at the AH for much, you can always sell to an NPC. That's another good piece of advice - check with NPCs on items. They sometimes pay more than what you'd get on the AH. If you're really wanting to take a chance, you can also drop down to the open courtyard where the High Priests are and get even more scrolls.

    2) Den of Racor - This one takes awhile to do, but if you're patient, it's possible and Fudo and Thief's Kote sell for quite a bit. Get an Unlit Lantern before going into the Den and go light it with the Blue Flame. Then you need to farm a 2nd unlit lantern and go down in the Den and light the red Flame. Finally Farm another and light the Yellow Flame. Now it gets a little bit crazier... Head down to where Hakutaku spawns and light 1 lamp there. Now you'll have 30 minutes to get a 2nd Yellow flame and get back down here to open the door. Then you go inside. The next door will be guarded by a True Sight Ninja, but that's ok. He can be mugged for a fair amount of gil and drops about 3k or so too I think, but he also can drop the Fudo. Then you use the Blue and Red flame to enter that door. Once inside, it's a drop straight down into a room with 4 regular tonberries and a True Sight NIN and THF. On the opposite side is a tunnel where a TS THF is, but every 21-24 hours, a TS BLM can be too. The gate is fast enough to open and there's a zone nearby that doesn't immediately drop down upon going into the Temple - use it when you need to. Now when you're down here, the TS stuff drops 3k gil or so each, can be mugged for 1-2k, and as I said, Fudo and the Kote. The Kote NPC for 7-8k about each. This has the potential to be big if you have the inventory to hold a ton of these things.

    3) Hilltroll Puppetmasters. I'm not sure about other servers, but here on Fenrir the attachments sell for a good amount.

If I wasn't upgrading at the moment this is what I'd do.

Also fishing gil/hr is pretty weak compared to abyssea, even if you're 100 and have ebisu rod etc. It does make a lot though if you have hours and hours every day to waste.

Farm Somber and Startling Memories from Promyvion areas. Takes a bit of time and patience to farm a stack of each. Don't flood the market with them.

Top floor Castle O Yag Prelate (BLM), Assassin (THF), Flagellant (MNK) and the BRD one Conductor. Pretty good scroll drops (NIN, BLM and BRD scrolls) with patience plus a chance at a coffer key and coffer.

Build amber lights solo in Abyssea, get vendortrash from gold chests, get KIs until you get a full popset for some NM or another and offer that set to one of the random people in zone working on the appropriate Empyrean in exchange for the +2 items.

i got fishing 63, ww 60 and alchemy 60. combining these crafts.
fishing nebimonite / cone calamary > alchemy black ink
bast parchment (u can craft them with ww) + black ink = shihei *33/*66/*99
on this way with actual toolbag stack prices i get a good 100-200k(profit) per hour.
not incredible much, but still enough to effort some gear or whatever. also by fishing and crafting the black ink / bast parchment by yourself u got a higher profit per craft and u craft less stacks per hour compared to buying all mats at ah and spamming the craft.this also prevents ah flood.

Edit: i am at 25% hq for shihei, with ww 80+ u would get a 50% hq rate
