Final Fantasy XI Movie?

Here's an idea. I was wondering you guys ever thought about making an anime movie of the game and all its expansions and add-on. The storyline of this game is awesome (Especially CoP) and I think it would be cool to get some kind of a movie going if there isn't going to be any additional add-ons or expansions coming anytime soon. What do you guys think?

Well you could do it that 3 main characters do the Nation quests. Another Main character gets all the fun by being the Star of the RotZ, CoP and Abyssea Movies, just because of the interconnected Storylines between them. Then we have 2 other Characters be the mains of ToAU and WotG.

I've always like the idea of a ffxi movie.
I've always though the best way to go around it would be in the lord of the ring style as its the only movie I've seen thats the closest to an rpg element feel.

you know with different race use of magic and sword fights.

I love some of the old videos people made for ffxi. I'm always excited to see people make more shorts and stick them on youtube. I'm not sure you could make a movie of the entire storyline though, SE might not like that.

As far as an official movie, I'm not certain it would be worth the return. If you think about how long all of those cutscenes are, I don't know that every cutscene ever would make a traditional length movie. Also there would be the question of where to release it (straight to DVD I guess).

I actually started working on a WoTG movie about 3-4 months ago I got about 22 minutes down to a nice edit. Still about 3+ hours though of rough CS to edit and compile together so that it makes a nice movie. It's alotta work, maybe one day I'll finish it and post it. I would like to see someone do a ToAU movie one day that would be nice.

There are plenty of mangas out there in Japan about FFXI. Most old, but some are pretty recent.

I got at least 20 during my stay there in 2008-2009.

something along the line of what I was thinking after I read the OP lol. If an animated title were to be released, it would no doubt be something much like the failed "spirits within" movie. Given the lack of developers and overall resources, it's likely bound to always be a terrible idea.
