    Problem With Merits.

Is there a reason why Merits aren't Job Specific. This would make so much more sense. If im playing my paladin i want +5 Enmity from merits, maybe 12 merits in HP, and VIT merit, but then when i switch over to my warrior....i dont want 5 enmity, im not the tank...i want -5 enmity, sure i can keep the 12 points in HP, but i dont want VIT, i want STR. All categories should be job specific, its not possible to even play a melee job, and then go and switch to a mage job, your non job merits would need too much adjustment in its current state, so much adjustment, that it would take over 40 merits just to switch from melee to mage in a proper manner.

So i ask...Why aren't merits job specific? Each and every job you select as you rmain should have its own Merit tables starting at 0 in every category. This makes switching jobs more feasable, and possible at that. You cant switch a mage job with mp merits and -enmity merits spell interruption rate down with int merits into a Warrior or DRG, or anything melee without making major adjustments that take way too much time.

Please make merits specific to each job so that its actually possible to play more than 1 job, or 1 line of jobs that use the same merits.

I actually like the fact that when I go to a different job, a portion of my merits will stay with me, makes it smoother to raise up a bunch of related jobs.

Funny how SE encourages you to switch jobs on one main character so you can play more jobs, but yet, in the same time, discourages you from doing that with the current merit system you mentioned.
I consider it "Broken" while some may consider it "Balance".
Personally, I think this "Balance" thing is just BS and an excuse of why its the way it is right now sadly.

In xiv you can change your stats when you change your jobs. I wish they had the same options here but I doubt they will change it now. But then again they did just add /blockhelp something we needed 8 years ago when the game first came out.

On a second note, how much sense does it make to build merits on you warrior, and then spend them on your paladin. Your paladin wasnt the one gaining skill in battle to better itself, so why am i able to take the merits i gained from warrior, and spend them on my paladin. Hell i cant even spend my merits on paladin unless i switch my job, so already right there is a good enough reason to make the merits job specific.

this 100000 times over . i mean seriously you people find something to complain about with EVERYTHING . yes SE encourages job switching but they also didnt say they encourage min / maxing every jobs ever. prime example invotory space people whine and cry about not having enough ffs you have 80x3 portable space with 80x2 MH and another 80 for storage , thats not counting all the gear you can put on npc's. When 240 invo spaces isnt enough for you to play a single job your taking the game to serious , when 240 isnt enough for you to play 2-3 jobs youve still gone to far. if your a mage.... sure 2 jobs taking up that much space might make a little sense but melee? same applys to merits +5 enmity isnt going to be the end of the world a good war is going to pull hate and tank regardless the 9400 dmg ukko's i did to glavoid last night wasnt going to not pull hate if i didnt have +5 enmity.

In XIV your stats don't really matter for much. Your job doesn't either for that matter.
