I do fully agree with the cells and bad luck on zhayolm. It is a similar situation and should also be looked at. However, it is not quite the same as the wind. You get bad luck, you dont get the NM. You get good luck you get the NM. In bhaflau, you get good luck, you get to TRY to pop the ramp (not the NM) under eased (not easy) conditions. You have bad luck, you now have to struggle to pop a ramp and then have another barrier of the NM actually appearing and only at this point do you have the drop rate which all NMs are based on.
However, choosing a 'path' that includes/excludes certain NMs is not the same thing as gears. That is a choice the player makes to fight which NM. Not a choice to try to ACCESS the NM.
This is about the requirements to even access an NM which is unlike any other in the entire event. Only on 4th floor bhaflau is it difficult to access an NM even if you 'plan' it in your run. Why should this singular NM have significantly more difficult requirements just to access the area the NM is in (not even the NM itself)?
The only other NMs in all of salvage that you can start a run and have difficulty accessing (if that is your only goal) is mad bomber (fixed), zhayolm frog (should be fixed), and skadi body NM.
More player control is always preferred to the whims of the RNG. There is a difference between difficulty/challenge and random number generators denying the opportunity to even TRY.
