    they need to implement a trade in policy, sort of like a core exchange policy. Order a replacement and link to it, then get an RMA number to send your old one back for a credit on your next bill or something. There should be no reason why they couldn't replace the battery and re-init the token for someone else to use. So long as the old one isn't too battered, they could just resell it, or maybe drop the guts into a new plastic case and resell it.
