POL-3001

i have 1 account with multiple characters and can log into them all except one. i receive POL-3001 error, this has been going on about a week now getting the error on PC and PS2.

i have called tech and they said i needed to open ports on router, which i have. i have reset/restarted router and modem several times and still getting POL-3001 on same one character.

any advice other than port forwarding, reset modem and router, or my favorite just wait for it to go away?

also just for the record i called ISP (comcast) and asked if they close any ports which they answered they don't close ports.

Comcast may be lying to you (no surprise). I was having the same issue as you and many others that are complaining on these forums. After some investigating through using a port scanner/sniffer, UDP ports 135-139 are closed by comcast. I don't know if this is region-specific (I am in southern NJ), but you might want to try scanning your ports while you log into the game just to see if you are getting the same response. I still believe this is a server-side issue though, as I have not had a problem like this in my 7 yrs of playing.
