After seeing a thread about new Lv4 skillchains... I thought of an idea to make the proc !! system a little more dynamic and less bias to certain jobs. I feel the current proc !! system creates favoritism towards certain jobs, due to them being able to proc so many different ways.
I'm not a fan of the proc !! system myself, but if SE decides to keep using it, how about making the proc !! system for future NM's based off of Skill Chains and Magic Bursts? Like allowing Distortion to proc red !!'s and a magic burst of any ice magic spell to proc yellow !! after that. And if you got the first proc from the SC AND the MB on the first try, it would proc something even better and allow for certain other special things to happen.
But it shouldn't limit the proc to specific spells or weaponskills as well (because that would just be way too difficult to figure out).
Example: The proc for the NM is Fusion, so the Alliance would have to keep doing different SC's to figure out untill they get Fusion. Then once Fusion is figured out, someone with some Fire Magic does a MB... But they didn't get the proc for the MB, so then obviously the proc will be Divine Magic. (How MB's proc would have to be fleshed out more, because then everyone would just bring 1 BLM/WHM to the group and mages would be left in the dust)
You wouldn't have to leave out jobs, because almost every job has bonuses to what SC they can perform. RNG can do liquifaction and reverberation alot with their WS's. DRG can do gravitation and impaction with alot of theirs.
I realize this might make SAM or /SAM a new favorite main/sub. But I don't think SAM can do every skillchain imaginable, and it would take quite awhile for a couple of SAMs to do everything themselves. Plus Sekkanoiki has a timer, and they get a merit JA that allows them to share TP with party members, so that they can help them with SC's.
Anyhow, tell me what you think about it. I think it would add more dynamics on how to find a proc !!~
