    Magian Trial Adjustment Proposal #(who knows)

    Ok, I plan to keep this simple and quick to the point, Let SE handle the finer details if they like this idea.

    This has been bothering me lately. That all the weapon elemental paths have a easy pass with the weather+ but the kill 400-800 of this monster family doesn't have something. I get it has the benefit of you being able to kill whenever you want. But like Weather/Element paths you can kill on the day for one point or with the weather for 5-6 points; day depending.

    Have you ever killed a monster family type 400-800 times? like Demons? Its annoying and takes much longer then the Elemental trials which can be timed with weather advances. Plantoids alone on my WHM's "Pent up Anger Releasing" Club of doom took me with one other person, about 6 hours. I slammed out my Wind beast dagger on THF in 40 minutes.

    I propose that the Multi-hit or Double Attack trait weapons get a sort of Bonus to killing a monster family, sorta like the Elemental Paths. I propose this be done with Notorious Monsters that would give you Exp when you defeat them at your level.

    Say someone was doing Sierra in the Bibiki Bays for Dagger trials. Your weapon needs 400 Aquan Kills, How about every time you kill Sierra Notorious monster, you get like 50 points in kills on your weapon. That means you would have to kill a Aquan NM 8 times to complete your trial, the time this would take would be about the same as the Dagger users wait for all 3-4 kills. With the bonus of being able to take breaks in between kills which is common with Elemental trials when the Weather vanishes.

    This proposal to the system allows for a choice in the Multi-Hit trials, as well you can team up with the people doing NM's from the previous trials. Overlapping and providing assistance in helping each other.

    For Balance I can see a few things working.

    1. Notorious Monster must give EXP for 50 points in kill towards its family type.

    2. If monster does not give EXP, only award 25 points in kills towards the family of its type.

    3. Create a rating system, similar to how the Hunt Registry tells us the Difficulty and Elusiveness of a NM, that defines the reward of points for each NM in a zone, possibly with only certain NM's qualifying for the points on the trial.

    Please lend any ideas to this Proposal and vote it up if you think SE should take a look at the "Occ. Atk. Twice/2-4 Attack/Double Atk. +?" Weapon trials for re-balancing. Take into consideration that some jobs have it harder then others to "Solo" or even "Duo" these trials in a timely basis due to the Monster Family type versus their job class.

    P.S. Don't knock the Rockin Whm 2-4 hitin Club. Saw a Whm/Dnc say $%# you to a NM in Abyssea and did some REAL Blood Tanking. Even Lived til the party recovered. He beat the NM til he lost his watch.

    I've been for general reductions on kill requirements for a long time now. They might not be so bad if you've kept up on a weapon from patch to patch over the cap increases, but when 99 hits and someone possibly takes up a new job, looking over the whole process and seeing that you might need over 6000 collective kills is a very daunting prospect when you consider the earlier stages of these weapons are often quite useless on their own. At present, I think some paths are a little over 4000. More manageable with others, but chancing upon someone with the same trial or just getting random help with nothing really in it for the helper isn't something to be relied upon. If you figure an average of 1 minute per kill and movement to the next mob, that time adds up. Worse if the mobs in question are sparse or lack high-50s EPs like Peistes.

    I'd like for them to add the following mob types to Abyssea areas: Slimes, Beetles. Thanks. Thunder trial is a pain as a RDM because we can't one shot mobs outside and it's hard to find ppl that're still on Indra Staff trials

    I've actually been working on the WHM multihitter Club. The biggest issue White Mage has - aside from stupid trails like Qiqirn that there are none of in Abyssea - is that White Mage can only do a lot of AOE damage with a Staff - basically, you can't go in with a Club and Cataclysm things to death. This makes it harder then what other jobs can do - Thief and Red Mage have Aeolian Edge, and Blue Mage has Charged Whisker.

    I did my Gnat and Qiqirn trials outside Abyssea, and they aren't so bad if you get a friend, or other people working on the trial. Inside, find someone who is chest farming and offer to join up and heal.

    Of course, my ideal solution would just be to have a Kraken Club, but I'm not rich enough for that (and I secretly hope the magian club is better at 99 considering the amount of kills). Since a KC can run for 40-50M gil on the high end, all this work is pretty much farming a weapon that is worth around 20M gil. Not too shabby considering how broke you can be as a White Mage.

    Light and to a lesser extent Dark, as well. Though, I'm sure this is when a certain someone strolls in singing the praises of seasons and how you can "plan ahead" to get weather kills done.

    I used a lot of my time knocking the 2-4 times GS out.

    I think it's safe to say those trials together can take longer than finishing an empyrean weapon. ;P

    I'd like to see the Avatar trial legs streamlined so that Avatars benefit from weather bonuses. 250 avatar kills is just mentally draining. Same case for Added Effect weapon trials.

    Hmm I've done the H2H Occ. 2-4x times and the Double attck +10... (hand to toss one to get the other but both paths required killin' hundreds of mobs)... in a nutshell, I used Abyssea to significantly reduce the time it took to complete the Double Attck +10 weapon (since Abyssea wasn't in the picture when I did the Occ. 2-4x weapon)...

    I say all this to conclude, I do not believe its necessary to change anything with regards to these trials. They do take an enormous amount of time but it pays off in the end...
