yeah but i'm in america not japan. I doubt a Doujin is an option for a physical paper volumn. Also for profit doujins are technically illegal. I'm not looking to get in trouble with SE.

Unfortunately, no, you cannot sell them in America. But if you were living in Japan you probably could sell them as doujins.
I don't think Square Enix has any problem with actual fanfictions being written and placed on websites like fanfiction.net. As long as they're obviously fanfiction and not a declaration to owning the material I don't think they'd even have a case against you.(0)
