Like I said in one of my earlier threads. Accessibility for some people means they should build Escalators and Elevators instead of Stairs in every place imaginable, when we all know Exercise is important to a long life.
Abolishing old content = No Exercise = Short FFXI Lifespan.
How to really solve the problem.
Don't do seal exchange.
Raise the cap to enter Abyssea to Lv70 or 75.
Lower the drop rate of seals to 1 per minute.
Improve the drop rates for all Kings HQ items.
Problem solved, doesn't gimp old content completely and seals will be easier to get.
悪島 Where the spirit of the moon resides... 気 愛 月光
Player
It's the direct reason why people are complaining about KS drop rate anyways. They know damn well they won't exp outside Abyssea past Lv30, so they figure since they're ganna be gimped on KS amounts, they'll ask the Dev's to fix it for them, instead of addressing the real issue at hand.

So, wait, are people actually doing KS99 for blackbelt items? I thought this kings revamp was for d.ring ridill abjurations etc.
And trading all of my crest for k.seals isn't a fix for the shitty drop rate. No one has 40,000 seals total even with a 2:1 exchange rate, need to make d.ring etc actually obtainable with effort and not wholly dependent on luck.
So we're just ignoring the fact that Abyssea was ever released then? Because nothing lost it's value due to that, am I right? I give up. You might as well just spoon feed every noob with all the best gear so they don't /ragequit when people realize how much they suck. And by 'noob' I'm not directly referring to new players. There is a difference between an intelligent person who will do their research and learn how to play, and someone who wants to be guided the entire way by someone else. Just like that saying, "you can give a man a fish and he will eat for a day, or you can teach a man to fish..." you know the rest. Just saying...
It's because your are blind.
Shadow/valkyrie trews with 4 MAB is an exemple that beat AF3+2.
Now for monk
Shura Togi with 3% haste 3% crit rate
Byakko's Haidate with store TP 5 and crit damage +4%
Kirin's osode with att7 & crit damage 3
For instance I computed that a set comprised of
- mnk AF3+2 head, the above shura togi, AF3+2 gloves, the byakko's haidate, AF3+2 feet
=> Is only 1.5% worse ONLY than full AF3+2 inside abyssea (thank to the new uncapped crit damage) and that's only because I assumed that you would use it during impetus.
=> Is 3.7% worse than full AF3+2 outide of impetus
=> Consequently you can easily guess that equipping
Shura Togi with 3% haste 3% crit rate/Byakko's Haidate with store TP 5 and crit damage +4%/ AF3+2 hands/head/leg outside impetus
and
AF3+2 head/hands/body/feet plus byakko during impetus
gives soemething like 4-5% damage boost.
Consequently augmented byakko's haidate is the abosolute best right now
Secondly the above doesn't account for the augmented osode which should beat the crap out of AF3+2 body on WS.
I have no doubt salvage augments are going to complety destroy AF3+2 to be honest. Good thing !
