    It doesn't negatively anyone because SE says what it is and the players don't. If the players want to run the company, get a job. If they wanted everyone to receive the item they would. It's just like on FFXIV and the CE Hat, not everyone gets it because they didn't purchase that specific package. It's not SE's fault that you have been playing this game this long and they came up with a great marketing strategy that made their current players jealous of the buyers of this package. You are a number, unfortunately you are not the number that will be receiving this item, that is unless they bend to the "omg i am so angry that I didnt receieve a hat! I have been here forever; since the beginging! Man you guys suck! This game is going in the wrong direction! blah blah blah."

    Here is a great tid bit of information to relax that mush in your head. Maybe this will make you realize that you ARE JUST A NUMBER:

    All database numbers are from FFXIAH.com and updated frequently:

    Total Active Accounts: 300,530
    SE Monthly Fee for FFXI: 12.95

    300,530X12.95 = $3,891,863.50

    3,891,863.50 x 12 (Months) = $46,702,362.00

    I would be willing to bet, they could get away without your 12.95. So if you are pissed that you aren't being taken care of as a long time customer, write a letter, lose you account, and GTFO.

    Your numbers are flawed, FFXIAH still hasn't removed the retired servers, some people are and will be counted twice for 90 days or so, and you're not accounting for account mules either.

    So mules are on the game for free now? That's interesting. So take away the old servers from the numbers yourself, even take 1/3 of the population and count it as $1. You are still going to be banking nicely. You are still a number.

    Your numbers are flawed if you assume $13/month for each character, because mules (and secondary main characters) are $1/month. That may potentially alter your numbers by a considerable amount.

    Instead of reacting to the statement with snark, why not modify your numbers to account for this? I'd like to see what the numbers are after taking into account the deactivated servers and the first character vs. additional character cost difference.

    On a related note, did you actually mean 'Total Active Accounts', or should that have read as 'Total Active Characters'?

    Went back and did some math,

    Took all servers with 5000+ Active Accounts - 247,115

    12.95 X 247,115 = 3,200,139.25

    Lets just say for giggles that 1/3 Population is Mules.

    This would make 82,290 Accounts MULES.

    You take this number away from the grand total: 164,825 are paying 12.95 while 82,290 are accounted for $1.

    164,825 X 12.95 = 2,134,483.75

    82,290 X 1 = 82,290.00

    Grand Total = $2,216,773.75
    X12
    Yearly ~ Total = $26,601,285.00

    Sorry, I know there are a ton of numbers right there. The mule percentage is the only number I cannot honestly account for and can be more or less. I am sure we all get the idea though. I don't mean to get angry and fed up, but from a business standpoint as large as SE's, folks we honestly are just a number. And the only way to change the way things go is to not subscribe. You take the money away, you cut the head off of the snake. Some people have it in their head that SE really does care about what you as an individual has to say. Unfortunately, this shown through their customer service base and through decisions made at an executive level shows that this is untrue. Your PoL # is your identity with SE, fitting, you are a number. This isn't Joe's Bakery down the road in your local town, this is an empire that is solely trying to make a buck and will do just about anything to make it.

    When I say this, it means, for example:

    The new collection: $19.99 US DOL. This includes the all the content up until recently. And also an item to interest players that may be new to the game needing it to catch up to the action. It also attracts existing customers because it creates a NEED/WANT for this item included. They are using a 'Take-Away" Sales method with you as a consumer to entice you to spend more money. With you not being able to occupy this item, they believe they can use jealousy to buy it. More than you could believe in this population will purchase this collection just for the item. And their plan has worked. Not only are they getting the 12.95+ from you but also tack on that nice 19.99 as well.

    As a consumer, it is your duty to recognize this when it happens. If you can distinguish your needs/wants better then they can pitch the item to you, you as the consumer wins. Getting angry in their forums is not going to solve anything. Yes, there is a chance someone may read this at some point and say "alright, new plan". But guess what, you are still not getting that item for free consumer. Be prepared to have to purchase this item at a different cost, right around the general range of $5.00. Or if they are feeling generous, may even give you the opportunity to purchase it in game. Judging by the recent statement in the press about losses, this will not happen. This company is looking for ANY chance to turn a profit.

    This sounds terrible but very true; if that's the case, we should all united and be one to go against SE's stupid marketing tactics. We pay them for their food and shoes. Customer is always #1 and making a win-win situation is your priority!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! SE should know it!

    I don't know what you are up to, again this is simply a SE's stupid decision, they can just make a +1 version for the n00b and everyone got the NQ hat, then all will be happy.

    If i'm not wrong you are one of the players who pay SE for entertainment/joy/gaming, none of us wants to pay and get pissed you need to get that right.

    I gave you a 'LIKE' not because I agree with you; you do got a point from greedy corporation point of view.

    Based on your assumption: 164,825 ID who is pissed and go purchased the $20 for that hat, that's

    164,825 x $20 = $3,296,500.00

    So 3.3 million dollars for something you already paid for... Does that sound right to you? I don't think so... I guess you just got caught in the very good timing. Please thing of us who paid full price and before you know, you may be one of us in the very near future.

    Where'd you answer the question? Oh right, you didn't because you can't. Going off on a tangent about something else to deflect the question doesn't resolve the question no matter how hard you try. (Not even including your total lack of understanding about net income that has absolutely nothing to do with anything plus the fact that you seem to think they are making quite a good bit of money which is detrimental to your non-existant "argument" in that they are making an even larger grab at money by trying to lure people who have already paid for the content into buying said content yet again. You want to argue that? Then answer the question I popped without deflecting it, which is the heart of the matter that you and a few others seem to dodge at every turn.)
