Could we get some feedback about feedback please?
I reported a bug about 2-3 months ago, and still haven't gotten any feedback about it. Considering you close those threads saying you'll come back with answers later, I'd like to get a better grip on when this "later" occurs.
It would also be interesting to know how you handle these things. Will you always reply to the bug report thread, or will you just slip it into release notes nearing an update? Where should I look for these "later" informations?
I think regardless of the outcome, the reporter of a bug wants to know the result. At my workplace we handle this in a nice way where reporters of bugs get an e-mail returned saying if an issue was finished, closed, or whatever. It keeps you in the loop so you don't have to sit years wondering what happened with your bug report. (Well, if nothing happens to your bug report, you get no feedback, so I guess it is not fool proof)
And this makes me again wonder... do you keep track of from where bug reports come? Like how do you know if it was from the Japanese or English forum? Where do you give the feedback back to? (Forum search might solve that I guess)
In any case, I request more feedback from Developers. I thought that was the whole point of an official forum, but it is hardly any different from using POL for interaction with SE.
