    Question about the Ult Abyssea Edition on May 16th.

    Considering getting it for the exclusive item but does anyone know if it only is obtainable on newly created characters or can pre existing ones also receive it?

    It will be, like every other item, an ID that you have to aply to the character of your choosing.

    Sorry I'm fairly new to the game and don't quite understand that. Is it something done through POL like you would add an expansion key? But for this instance it would ask you to select a pre existing character to apply the key to?

    You register it to your account, and the first character on that account to talk to the distribution moogle gets the item. It's just like the other keycode items, such as Tidal Talisman, Harpsichord, etc.
