[To DEVS] Implementing a "View Stats" to players.

Earlier this week I put together my own Abyssea party and then we went in to fight and I notice that half of my alliance was gimp in skills critting for 0's, missing etc. So I was thinking, "Why don't we have a way to check our players stats like we do with gear?". Have a second bubble beside "View wares" that we can click to view ppls weapon skill levels and another option under the "/sea player" that we can click. I think this would be a very helpful tool while building parties for events or exp that I don't think would be too "High cost" to implement. Please "Like" or leave your feedback in the comment section below. Also here is a link to a fairly good example.

I've mentioned in another threat that it would be cool if there were a BCM that tested players and gave them a grade. It would include damage output, judgement, and reaction times, etc. The data could then be viewed anywhere.

I agree with this, even if we could just see attack and defense you can get a fairly good idea on melee, but ranged and magic are just a guessing game. You basically have to go by whether you remember that player's name from several years ago-and with the server merger that isn't even reliable-to guess at whether or not a player would have taken the time to get their skills to a level where they are good for something other than sucking up your healer's MP.

Unfortunately, this won't happen. The current players have a vested interest in you not knowing how useless they are, because you would never invite them to anything if they won't pull their own weight. Do what i do, kick them from your party/alliance if they are failing to perform. I like parties where everyone pulls their own weight, I'm not here to carry anyone. I do my job and expect everyone else to do the same.

I've enjoyed a long reputation for my ability to beat difficult tasks in unconventional ways due to my perseverance. Well, the reason for that perseverance is because I trusted the players arround me to do their job so I could focus on mine. I partied with people that had that same conviction. So our whm was willing to take a hit to get a cure off, tanks were willing to die so the party could live, people watched the mob behavior and modified their actions to maintain hate control and the like. Now I can't exercise that same perseverance because I can't trust the poeple around me (at least in anything other than my LS parties) to be able to do their jobs in anything like a useful, competent fashion. I need to choose my gear/food/Atma/subjob on the assumption that-party or no-I'm essentially soloing based on the support I can rely on.

As I do like the idea of the OP's solution, I am questioning what it could do to the play across the board. What it could do is filter out the folks that do not have the adequate skill for their level but with everyone 60~65+ in Abby parties now, we will have folks that cannot advance at all. Getting together a skill party is the generic answer for this but within that same group not allowed into abby parties you will have certain groups that are going to let their friends in, dwindling down the number of folks ready to do a skill party. Idk, I just see it hurting us more than helping us. However, I do agree with OP, it is always nice to have skilled players in party.

There are things about this game that can't be shown by stats or skill levels on weapons/magic.

Common knowledge is absolutly needed in this game for small parties to work.

That WAR with GA skill of 360 could still be whacking on mobs that the BLM have slept and are soloing.

That BLM with Enfeebling skill of 340 could still not have Sleepga/Sleepga II. How effective are they at sleeping large groups?

That NIN/WAR with Kannagi might not know what "Provoke" is.

Stats are only half of the battle. Knowledge can make a gimp player shine and a great player top tier.

No point in putting in a test for reaction times, people would just bot it (you know it's true).

Edit: Also, I wouldn't mind being able to see others' stats. I also wouldn't mind being able to see more of my own.

    That's some impressive H2H skill for a PUP24 there!

    Not a bad idea though.

Far as weapon levels go, there is a way to test other players: Ask them to use a specific WS. For SAMs, this could be Gekko, Sanguine Blade from a BLU, and so on. Of course, don't be an idiot and ask a level 75 to use something they simply can't. If you find out they can't, then you can kick or tolerate it. If their output still sucks despite a minimum skill level, then maybe they're underleveled or undergeared.

Probably my biggest peeve lately has been finding BLUs still using Bludgeon at 80+. Even did a colibri party in thickets where one couldn't RLB > CA Sickle Slash to BA MP Drainkiss. A lazy person will be lazy regardless of the actual EXP environment, but if you're the leader, it's your choice whether or not to put up with their behavior.
