There is gear that is ONLY rare and can not be sent through delivery, such as Osode, or the Hachiryu set. As well as gear that is ONLY EX or RARE/EX and CAN be sent to another character, perhaps as an early test to see what would happen maybe. I don't remember the bulk of the items, but one example would be the Smart Grenade. I know it's not enough to go against the general concept that EX items cannot be sent, but there are exceptions to these "rules."
Well thanks for restating what I've already said

rare items are already tradable/mulable for the most part.

I never said you were incorrect, because what you said is true common knowledge (not to be confused with common sense). This is just one of those things that people generally learn very early on in their FFXI lives. I'm sorry for those who may have been underprivileged from the beginning and without knowledge of the resources where you can find basic information like this.

As for this subject, I'm also glad to know they will be further expanding our options for storage. My guess is it will focus primarily on items used for quests, which I'm sure will help a lot of people. For me, I'd just like a larger gobbiebag because I have too much gear for each job to maintain a steady inventory, and often finding myself leaving some stuff behind. 80 spaces just aren't enough! :P And before you go "but you can access your sack/satchel outside of MH, why don't you keep your stuff there?" Well my answer is simple, and I'll break it down in two parts: 1) Sometimes (not too often) situations can change rapidly and scrounging around for missing pieces would be a waste of time. 2) I'm lazy.
