Before this adjustment to Dynamis I was okay with not having a map. It made the event different, and required me to actually stick with the group. And if not, then at least stay in communication with them. The absence of a map promoted communication among players.
Now, anyone can enter Dynamis. Low man groups from all over go in, and I saw a full alliance of LS members doing Dynamis - Beaucedine the other day. But more noteworthy are the shouts for different Dynamis areas. Shout groups can go really well, or they can go really bad. Mostly due to miscommunication and a lack of understanding on a player's part.
Eliminate the possibility of miscommunication and the hassle of getting a new addition to the group inside Dynamis. Allow for players to be able to see where their party members are on the map. I know Windurst Walls, South San d'Oria, Bastok Mines, Ru'Lude Gardens, Beaucedine, Xarcabard, Valkurm, Buburimu, Qufim, and Tavnazia better than some of you know your own Mog Houses. But the position of my party is a changing dynamic throughout the event, I cannot possibly know that like I know those areas. And if I'm a new addition to the team, I'd rather not pester someone for directions on how to get to the group.
Adding maps to Dynamis is the best thing they could do since they've made it much more casual. Before their modifications it was a subtle inconvenience and just added a layer of communication that an occasional new addition to the team would have to sift through. Now, however, it is much more than occasional that a new member is added to a group.
If they had no maps for Abyssea, the same people vouching for no maps here would've vouched for maps in Abyssea. Why? To be able to find their group.
