I don't see how this is not possible at a system level when NPC fellows, which are summoned with an item, disappear when you leave an area and reappear when you move to another (as long as they are allowed in that area)

I'm inclined to believe what Camate says, I don't like it being largely a BST myself it's always sucked, however I can see that the NPC could be different, I imagine it could have been implemented using an adaptation of the 'pet' code, which means they were able to re-spawn it on zoning in.
However, although I'm inclined to give them the benefit of the doubt, I agree with Bob's resentment of the 'balance' BS, it's asinine to argue that the relatively small cost of most jugs is a 'balance' issue.
I'm not complaining. Hell, my BST is still level 1 and I have no desire to see it go any further. I just don't understand, mechanically, how this is even a valid reason. I would love an actual explanation why a BST's jug pets are different than my automaton, NPC, or wyvern more out of curiosity than anything after the response.
Thank you Camate, For your reply to this thread. There are many important BST concerns and we do want you to feel welcome to comment on any and all of them. I'm sorry for the comments snapping at you. Things are volatile right now in the BST community. We have never been shown much love by the Dev Team ( at least not on purpose) in comparison to other jobs. And one of the strongest things we have been given has recently been snatched away with an "Oops" reply from the devs. Many people in our community felt this was a simple and fair request. And your response seemed to imply that SE gives priority to the cooks over the bsts. It would not surprise me if this were true, As a main bst ive grown accustomed to being lowest of the low on the priority totem pole. Just to simplify and clarify the request of this thread. We are not asking for all pets to zone. We understand this would be impossible. We are asking for just Jug pets to zone. If we pay the money to buy 1 jug. And that jug lasts until the pet dies or the time limit is reached, then what is wrong with gaining the full benefit of the item? that is the question we would like answered. Why should we lose 20k in a few minutes due to an event that takes place across many zones? Or why should we even lose 5k just because of a disconnect? Especially when this issue was already adressed and fixed for all other pet jobs and carried over into NPC helpers.
In closing, im sorry for the outrage that ensued. I hope you feel welcome to comment on any and all BST threads.
its not the issue of allowing ur called pets zoning they coudl do that easily enough its you and friends grouping grabbing some high lvl pets from one zone and slipping over to a lower area and raping it farming or whatever ur intentions maybe..
that being said no one levels outside abyssea anyhow so no big deal to me if they did it hehe let us charm in abyssea that might throw game balance off a weeee bit then
"SE are interested in keeping good communication w/ the playerbase, they are not obligated to do so."
ARe you freaking serious? We are their customers, THEY ARE OBLIGATED TO DO SO, like every company in the world. Communication is everything to a successful company. Now stop being an SE suckup and get your head out of the sand. They insulted us with this lame excuse.
"Chill out, I'm not best pleased with this either, but we asked and got an answer... Stressing, and being rude helps nobody."
Sure it does, it helps to educate someone so delusional to think that SE isn't obligated to communicate with their customers. Maybe you are fine with SE treating you like you are a moron, but I am not. They want to improve communication and customer satisfaction then they need to do a better job. They want to get into other MMOs, they need to do this.
You can do all of that without making yourself look like an ass by being rude to the messenger is his point.
And he's right. Generally those quick to anger are those best ignored. You don't help yourself when you go off every post :\ people will eventually just block you and then you help no one.
Its not a sin to ask someone to take a chill pill. I'm as frustrated as you, We can still complain, but its also completely useless to go apeshit on the guy delivering the message. I don't know if you know about basic human communication, But anger rarely leads to anything positive. Just need to keep on them about it, but not to get so angry.
So yes, Throw a keyboard through a window or something if you really have too, But don't rage at Camate, hes not on the dev staff AFAIK, He just tells us what they tell him.
Anyway, That aside. I think the whole balance thing is a little... Bull, I believe thats a steaming load of lie as well. It seems like an overused excuse. There is no balance lost by letting pets zone. Every other pet in the game zones with you, Including NPCs. Except the only one that costs money, does not.
I'd be willing to humor bad coding/etc, But not "Balance".
