    Updates to Fishing?

    Fishing, over the years, has taken a lot of hits due to RMT, which hurt actual fishers, and sometimes non-fishers.
    Any chance that Fishing could get some updates?
    Remove some nerfs, give some new things?

    Some specifics would be...
    ---Remove Fatigue, completely. Fatigue is a worthless system. Personally, I have time to fish way more than 200 fish per day. From what I understand, this limit was implemented to prevent RMT abuse. [Which makes no sense, considering RMT had plenty of accounts to fish with.]
    ---Remove Goblin Bounty Hunters. From what I remember, these were implemented to annoy RMT who fished with lower level characters, so that they had to level until they didn't aggro anymore to be able to fish there. Although not a lot of people do non-Aby XP parties anymore, this did ruin or cause annoyance to a few spots. This also makes it really annoying for anyone doing the BST unlocking quest at level 30. Again, I don't find them to be necessary whatsoever.
    ---Change the "Newbie Fatigue". What I mean by this, is that if your character is new and/or below level 20, your fishing capabilities are terrible. A recommended change from me, would be to make the only requirement a level 10 or 15 character. RMT is almost non-existent now, compared to before. I find that it's extremely unfair on new players to make them wait a whole month to be able to fish properly.

    In short:
    RMT hardly exists these days, as interest in selling/buying FFXI gil is extremely low right now.
    I simply suggest taking away or lessening the measures taken to combat RMT, that end up affecting real players in a negative way.
    And on top of this, give us more updates for Fishing! I'm sure SE can get creative here.

    I agree with this! Fishing is king. Removing some restrictions from fishing would be good, maybe some improvements on top of that would be good, like reducing the time between casting and bite, or reducing time between reeling in a catch and being able to fish again. Possibly remove all together, or lower the chances of getting no bite at all.

    Like I've been saying in other threads, fishing fatigue is really sporadic right now. Catches ranging for me to be far less than 200 sometimes not even 150. SE has pretty much removed all other ways of making any gil in this game (removed NM/HNM drops, Synergy broke crafting, etc.) so this is the only way that I really make money. Trying fund a relic horn atm also, so I hope I didnt just start a meaningless effort if fishing is broken now also.

    While fishing is a good consistent income from vendorable fish and potential ebisu fish sales, it pales in comparison to how much you can make in Abyssea. At the top end you can expect to make ~300k from vendor fish or if you have a ebisu deal up to 1M per day. And the majority of these anti-RMT measures are negated since Nashmau is the primary location to skill up. Also in terms of consumables consider the Neb and Cone market on your server for potential profits.

    I personally would look forward to improvements for things like gutting Matsuya and other hard legendary fish for profits to reward 90+ Fishermen. As it stands Ebisu is unbreakable and increases the fish cap to 210 which is but ultimately moot. There have been a few new fishing items and legendary fish this last year but nothing that would bring the craft forward.

    1M a day? doing that crocodile fish in abby? Or what fish? Gotta make gil somehow in this time of depression.

    1M/day for catching and selling 50 Lik/Gugs. Which takes 4-8 hours. And you need a buyer.

    Ah yes, kind of sad that the best way to make money as a fisher is to sell fish to other fishers. I mean, that's just wrong in some way. We should be able to exploit the cookers and the alchemists for more gil

    Depending on your server's market, you can make a tidy profit on nebs, cone, sole/dil, and a few other things. However as consumables the supply chain is very volatile so be careful on flooding.

    yeah i agree to this.
    5 years and fishing 63,6. (didn't fished for a while). but +0,1 in 1-3 hours in quiet annoying.
