"Wanted" section on the Auction House

I'm sitting here in Jeuno watching people trying to find items to buy for hours to no avail. Sometimes days or longer I've seen. It would be rather unique for a player to be able to go to a "Wanted" Auction House, works the same way as the regular one, except you put up a price you want to buy it for and pay the gil to post it. If a seller agrees, they just look at your name from the purchase list and sell it to you. You can even be offline. Gil just sent to your delivery box. If somebody *really* wants a stack of Shuriken that badly, by golly, they could post it on the wanteds.

I've had a similar idea myself for a long time, though a bit more automated. You would specify your price, dump in offer * number of items wanted worth of gil, and wait. The listings would show the current highest price on offer, and then as people sold things to the system it'd go from the top down clearing out buyer's requests.

Even if we bodge something ourselves once the server threads are up? I predict that the devs will be too busy or this will be harder than it looks but if there's a "wanted" section under the server heading on this forum it'll do in the short term. Maybe even sub-divided in to craft, farming or mission/quest help?

The problem is, I never look at out-of-game information like this because it's outdated most of the time.

I like the idea of an in-game solution though. If I saw someone needed beetle gear, I would make it as long as I could get the mats, even if it meant a small profit margin, just to help people out.

The problem right now is making these items and having them sit on the AH for a week without selling - just not worth my time or AH slots.

I think an in-game 'Wanted' section is a pretty ideal solution. Great idea.

Something else just occurred to me... allow people to bid on items that are not on the AH.

Say someone wants to buy beetle leggings for 6k. They just place a bid for 6k on the AH. The first seller that comes along can just place the item for 6k and the person receives the item in their in-box and the seller gets the gil in their in-box.

Just figure out some way to indicate that there are pending bids on the AH.

I think the AH may come alive again with a system like this.
