Because the first time soloing a particular nm is any different than soloing 100 other nms using exactly the same strategy? There are no such thing as original solos. Every single one uses one of 3 different strategies:
1) kite, nuke, dot, etc. Can either use bind/grav/pinning to stay away from the mob, or simply running around something that slows the mob down, or even just using +move speed to gain distance.
2) straight fight. generally relies on utsu, etc to stay alive, can either melee, or fight exactly as above, without the running (when kiting is impossible, such as cactrot rapido).
3) zombie: bring lots of rr, and bio2.
That is it. All solos use a variation of one of those three basic strategies. The only difference between big bomb and suzaku is that suzaku hits a bit harder, uses chainspell, and requires better gear. Otherwise it is exactly the same fight.
being the first really does not matter at all, because really, no one is first. All solos rely on strategies that are as older than the game itself, and applying a 20 year old strategy to a new mob is not new.
Your analogy is flawed because the strategies are so old, and obvious, and have been independently thought up probably 10s of thousands of times. Coming up with "ohey, i can outrun this monster, and attack it at a distance, but it can only attack me if it is right next to me, so i can just keep running, and using ranged attacks to solo it" is not impressive. It was not impressive the first time someone came up with the idea, and it was not impressive the next hundred thousand times someone came up with it.
I would say that the execution of a strategy is ALL that matters. Spending 20 minutes running running away from a monster in super mario shooting fire balls at it is not impressive, but if you cut that down to 10 seconds, it just might be.
