I hate how every update I think of a load of stuff I'll go and do with my free time...then instead sit at the pc waiting for update notes...and dat mining threads...and other stuff till the server comes up...every single time!

Remember there's alot of content going into this update, and there's 4 different languages they have to post in, It might take up to 2 hours(maybe more) if they're having to spell check/grammar check to make sure it all makes sense in all languages :x

I'm really sure they usually have all that stuff taken care of and done with before maint. starts. Normally they do post the notes up right away - 30 minutes after maint. starts. The FFXI staff seem to be slacking, I wonder why that is.

It's not just an update - it's also server merges - that is why it will take 11 hours.
