    Character log-in very slow

    Platform:PS2/PS3/PC

    ISP: Comcast

    Type of Internet Connection: Cable

    Internet Connection Speed: 21Mbps

    Date & Time: Always PDT

    Frequency: Always

Character Name: Zyrs and all characters on my account

    Race: Tarutaru

    World: Valefor

    Main Job: All

    Support Job: All

    Area and Coordinates: All

    Party or Solo: Solo

    NPC Name: none

    Monster Name: none

    Steps:

    1. Log in

    2. Select character

    3. Character appears on screen - in upper right of screen - the percentage over the sending/receiving arrows @ 100% and S(number) R(number)

    4. immediately following that, r goes to 0 and the percentage subtracts from 100% in increments of 6%. As soon as the percentage reaches 82%, s goes to 0.

    5. Depending on whether or not it is a good day, the percentage arrows will go down to 24% (although they have gone down to 12%) then the game music will start and the percentage will slowly increase by increments of 12% until it reaches 100%. Then sending will go to a number between 1 and 100 and receiving will go into the 3000s, then they will both go to 0, then they will both hit some normal numbers and if I am in my house the furniture and the moogle will finally appear. After this I will get none, some or all of the server message and none, some or all or the linkshell message.

    6. This process takes between 2 and 5 minutes to complete. If my wife logs in at the same time, she can run to the Windurst Woods auction house from the mog house and much of the way back before I can even see my moogle.

    7. This happens no matter if I log my character in on a different machine or different type of machine.

    8. If I log my wife's account into the machine I normally use, it is fine and able to be used right away.

Were you on a merged server and in Port Jeuno? Thanks to SE's dumb idea I haven't been able to login at all due to "congestion" in Port Jeuno.

Congestion is not letting my main login...people are all afk outside of port jeuno moghouse leaving me at Downloading Data forever..

I see people are afk near abyssea npc in port jeuno also making it difficult for others to login there.

    Hey there Zyrs!

The thread has been moved from In-Game Bugs to Technical Support since it can be a minor technical issue. In the case that it is, you may be able to resolve the problem here. We apologize for any frustration the constant disconnection has been causing. We hope everything works out soon enough!

To answer the questions that have been asked:

It does not matter where any of the characters on my account are. They can be in Port Jeuno, Port Windurst, Bastok Mines, North San D' Oria sitting in mog houses and the 2 to 5 minutes slowdown happens to all of them.

It does not matter what machine I use to log into my account, this always happens no matter which machine I use to log in.

If someone else logs their account on to my machine, their account is fine and there is no waiting - leading me to believe that this is an SE problem rather than a problem with my machine.

I am not being disconnected, I am connecting but unable to use my character until a few minutes have passed.
