    Would love to see some hybrid combinations.

    Some examples:

    - Double weather, but two different elements.
    - New avatars that have two elemental affinities.
    - BLM spells based on two elements.
    - A weapon that is two weapon types at once, give lower damage, but have the WS of both.
    - Jobabilities or spells that are available if the right main and sub job combination is set.

    Good stuff here, could have some potential. Myself, what I would personally like to see is stuff as such.

    -First point that I like which you mentioned was BLM spells with two elements. I always would reminisce about Chrono Trigger and would have liked to have seen something in FFXI similar to Antipode (Ice & Fire), Glacier (Ice & Water), Fire Whirl (Wind"Kinda" & Fire) and so forth.
    -I just posted in SMN forums about Baelfyr, Byrgen, Gefyrst & Ungeweder as "Could-Be-Potential" Avatars which would have dual elemental affinities. It would make be a neat introduction for the spirits lineup, except with actual control over their actions.
    -Weapons with another weapon type is a big one that I think should have been addressed long ago. Personally I think weapons such as hand-to-hand should be given all damage types based on appearance, not just Vampiric Claws & Birdbanes. I mean all Katars should have piercing damage. Claws and Baghnakhs should all have slashing damage. Cesti, Patas, Knuckles & Santi can all stay as blunt damage for all I care. It would only make hand-to-hand damage more efficient against different mobs. Common sense with no excuse. If you get punched with a sharp object attached to a hand-to-hand weapon, you will get cut or stabbed, not bruised.

    And so forth. Stuff like this would be nice, thanks for opening this hybrid thread for discussion.

    I am particularly interested in the job combinations idea. This seemed like the direction SE was headed when they introduced subjob belts. The abilities available would have to be stronger the further from mainstream the combination runs.

    JA's available from subjobs is something ive tossed around in my head for years, always thought it would be pretty cool

    blm spells on 2 elements? let me guess, your a blm right lol, if so, you should realize that as a blm you
    1. check weather
    2. check day
    3. check mob element weakness
    4. cast thundaga

    Adding two elments is a cool im sure you can choose which element so if you do check the weather, day, elemental weakness. Just chose the element it weak to first then chose another one because most mob have another weakness you can exploit.

    Actually

    The idea came mainly from trials and avatars. My BLM is 41. The weather would be nice for avatar perp cost, trials and more. I am glad you guys gave positive feedback on the subject and hope to see some reaction from SE on how they see these suggestions. The hybrid weapons could give some other jobs the ability to proc more WS perhaps.

    I would like to see some suggestions on what hybrid JAs and MAs would be nice.

    Instead of just the Dual Tech idea which not many would really utilize, have instead a Spell Chain, which would work similar to Skill Chains, and when followed up with a corosponding weapon skill, we get a Skill Burst type of thing. The base of the idea for it I got from a Capcom rpg, Breath of Fire 4.

    I like the Chrono Trigger idea but i think it should be a combined effort between 2-?? players just like on Chrono Trigger. Would be awesome to have the more physical type dual tech/triple tech attacks implemented in the game.

    I'd settle for hybrid armors. Far too many armors with only focus on one thing. Like I'd like some Summoner gear with melee stats and avatar stats, for those times I want to fight along my pet. They are almost exclusively either black magic (MAB), white magic (cure potency) or avatar bonuses in the current selection of armors. And sometimes you just don't want to cast tier II nukes from SCH sub, or cure IVs from WHM sub.
