    I actually had to log off game to check this for myself, seeing as I use EU PoL too. I followed the steps up until where you see all your member information and there is a "Please select a category" menu at the bottom. And unless I'm completely and utterly blind, I see no "Content ID contract extension" option there.

    Odd, I'm UK and it does it for me automatically on a direct debit, also I'm using a debit card and not a credit card. Perhaps it's just the way you've set up your account, though I'm not sure how you'd change it.

    What difference does it make? It's not like you can get cash back like you can at the grocery store. Just use your debit card for payment. The money still comes out of your checking account. You use your card, as if it were a credit card, and enter its information, again, as if it were a credit card. The end result is the same as if they did a "direct debit."

    You don't have to manually "extend" your "contract." payments are processed automatically unless and until you cancel them.

    Actually once I did not manually extend my contract and guess what?

    No payment was taken out of the account and my account became inactive.
    I had to reactivate my account and manually extend my contract.

    BTW this topic as gone way off topic.
    I wanted to suggest another payment method other than card payments.

    Since this all about my payment method which is nothing to do with the original post.

    That means there was a problem with your payment method. Under normal circmstances, you never, ever have to manually "extend" your contract (in fact, no such option exists- you cannot pay manually).

    They likely will not see any reason to add non-card payment methods (other than possibly game cards via Crysta, but they would probably have to revamp playonline's backend systems to work with that) and in fact the lack of payment options is partially due to the design of playonline itself- it's about as easily modified as FFXI is (which isn't easy at all). In your case, there is basically no difference between a debit card transaction and a "direct debit" transaction other than the lack of a card itself- and what bank doesn't offer a debit card with checking accounts? Direct debit is no more safe and secure than the debit card.

    (you can't ask for threads to be locked- threads will be locked if a moderator deems it appropriate- which it's not because this isn't off topic)

    Well, on the NA client we don't have anything like that. We just put our payment info in and it just takes the fee out month by month. That's way preferable to having to remember to pay every couple months. I'm sorry, I didn't know the payment system was different for the EU client.

    You do, please stop spitting nonsense. I myself changed my credit card at the beginning of this year and it doesn't allow monthly automatic payments like my previous one which means I have to extend the contract for 1-3 months for each char and mules everytime the last contract expires.

    Did you notice the "I'm uk" part of the thread ? I'm french and it works the same, it's not a CC problem it's an issue with SE that doesn't recognize my card as a normal credit card, even though it is a visa

    I've been a Northern Bank customer for easily a good 13-15 years. Never changed bank, never changed my account, only get the re-issued card in the mail once every 1 (2? is it) years when the previous one expires. I have a Visa debit, which is used to pay for my account, and a Visa credit (normally for paying bills that can't wait till pay-day).

    I live in Northern Ireland, and use the EU version of the Playonline Viewer. However, I definately recall about 2 years ago having to manually extend my contracts, but I can't honestly remember the (exact) last time I've had to do it. All my contracts are automatically extended, and I get this when I log in.

    (Last but not least, no sign of 'contract extension' in the services and support menu in the EU version of POL)

    I've used my Debit card to pay for a friends account (he's NA) and I had to download and install the NA version of POL to change the details on it; he's still playing, and my bank account is getting charged for it, so I can easily assume that his contracts are automatically being extended.

    tl;dr - I'm an EU customer using a debit card, and mine extends perfectly fine without any interaction.

    It is in mine in the same menu of your pic there is a line "contact ID contract extension" which leads to this so what works for you doesn't work for anyone...
