    focus stats

    This is one thing that always really bugged me and that was that basically all the avatars have the same stats bar a couple of extra points in their own respective fields, I think by now the stats should be noticeably different between them all.

    I'd love to see titan with huge HP and defense, or ifrit with a large pool of STR and attack, something to really make each avatar truly unique for more then just their blood pacts.

    The other thing i would love to see them do is make an avatar ability that doubles their cost and "Upgrades" the avatars to a true battle or defensive "mode" where the receptive bloodpacts are more powerful and the other bloodpacts are no longer selectable in that mode.

    For example since titan is my fav >^.^< When you activate battle mode he punches the earth and pulls out a large hammer and his bloodpact rage's do increased damage and you get 1 new one only available in that mode. Or if you activate defence mode he punches the ground and pulls out a shield and looses bloodpact rage and can only use ward and gets 1 new one again only available in that mode.

    This kind of thing would truly do smn justice since time and time again we get the cold shoulder with gear that isn't just for us and lack of a decent update for our timers/abilities.

    This is a good idea, except for the "double their cost" part.

    Sorry, I like having free avatars all the time, they last longer and you don't have to rest as often (or at all, I haven't rested for mp since level 75)

    I agree with this, for the first time I a beginning to play my SMN in a way I think it always should have been played. Outside of Abyssea I am not able to have my avatars out all the time. Soon I will be moved away from staves that have -perp cost as well.

    I just think that doubling the cost would be a fair trade to upgrade you avatar once you summoned them, but SE could always make a smn trait that cuts down avatar costs once you reach certain points. Thing that gets me is i have full +2 and use titan's staff +2 and i only get back a max of 3mp/tick while he is out, seems to be the cap you can get with full refresh gear on T.T

    The actual max of the amount of trait Refresh you can get back is +1. That is counted after perp cost is down to 0, but refresh trait still counts first, at least Auto-Refresh 1. You can get perp cost down to 0 at 90 by having a staff with -3 perp down (HQ elemental staves, Bahamut Staff, or Fay Staff with augumented -3 perp), Evoker's Ring, Emp+2 body and feet, and Emp+1 horn (Emp+2 horn would give you +1 refresh for having avatars out). If I got -4 perp staff or higher...err...lower...you know what I mean, then the max refresh I could get back would cap at +1 (+2 with Emp+2 horn).

    Although the BP- is a nice bonus, it really isn't worth getting 8 TotM 90 staves unless you already spent the time getting them to level 85 status (which most SMNs did btw). But you don't need the TotM staves to get free avatars at all.

    Adding the "double cost" part would make it impossible for SMNs to have anywhere near free avatars anymore. Including the TotM staves and the -1 perp pants from the Beyond NM.

    Interesting idea, The double cost seems extream however I don't think it should be overlooked due to that balance issue.

    I'm sure there can be other ways around it...if SE considered this.

    Sounds to me like you only have 4 refresh anyway. Because you can get to 1 perpetuation, and then it needs an auto refresh to reach zero, and then all further refresh is gained.


    Also I think the idea sucks. I'll never get these "I want my avatars to have their own roles" people think... you'll just end up being considered for a single role anyway, and that would mean you are stuck with a single avatar for life.

    No they should all be the same, so you can pick whichever you feel like for the moment and have variety in life.

    i just see it since bst and pup our brother pet jobs have different ways to fight using certain pets for certain roles. I just think summoner should get this kind of option to help us be our own. what i'm suggesting doesn't mean summoners are completely different from now, They will still have the same setup as before where all of them are the same with slight differences between them but with the mode change they can still live up to fill a missing role of a party member.

    It would allow summoners to have a more diverse role since we keep getting the cold shoulder from SE for job abilites/pets. Bst gets new pets and pup get new parts. We need something to atleast give us a look at again,

    I like the idea of an ability that makes your avatars stronger, but I thought double perp cost is far too much. Maybe something like a reverse favor, the higher your skill, the bigger boost your avatar would get, the more perp+ it would cost. I think +3 perp for an avatar with higher attack, defence and magic attack would deffinatly be worth it. As it stands now, there is more perpetuation- available than nessasary.

    I get a 1 tick Refresh with +2 head/feet, brigid subligar, level 80 staves and Marduk's body. I'm honestly not bothered about getting the +2 body because perp-4 is overkill and not nessasary to keep an avatar out without Refresh. Having some ability which makes the avatar stronger, and giving more use to perp- wouldn't be a bad thing imo.

    As for making all the avatars individual, it'd be an interesting idea but I agree that it's nice to give people the choice of which avatar to use. Most Summoners only seem to use Garuda because of Preditor Claws, and with all the avatar: MAB that has been added in recent updates I think this is SE trying to level the playing field with all avatars by making their merit pacts equal strength, or making your faviourate the best if you choose rather than having it preset.
