    Revive Campaign Battle

    I loved campaign battle. However as with most things inplemented in FFXI, it has been mostly shelved for newer content. I believe though with some minor adjustments - it can be saved!!!

    Please post some suggestions for bringing back the glory days

    1. Remove campaign medal expiry - this will allow more casual use withou losing your progress.

    2. Allow skill ups. Besiege has it - why not campaign? Everybody wants a place to skill up, campaign would be a great place for that.

    Any further suggestions?

    - Ease requirements for opening up the northlands BC, a lot of players never got the chance to do it.
    - Make the EXP levels relevant again and comparable to Dominion.

    The problem with Campaign as of now is there's practically no reason to unlock any of the content. Allied Ring was the big plus, but with Abyssea not being affected by dedication statuses the Allied ring isn't worth getting, and the rewards from the Shadow Lord battle got shafted by newer content.

    All the suggestions made so far are good ones, though the best thing SE could do is just update Campaign with new viable rewards.

    at lvl90 or even at lvl75 with the right gear/job you can agro multiple mobs and drag them far away and solo while holding up the battle, alot of people get annoyed with that and i will admit i done it alot on PLD/DNC soloing 5-10 mobs at a time not including the NM.

    campaign battle is dead now since abyssea is quicker and easier exp there is very little wait to get an invite or join a shout

    More chances at currency from union spoils maybe? Rather than 1-2 pieces per battle per union tops, even after over an hour of battling, maybe something that might make more people want to participate? Treasure pool space at the end is kind of limited, though... but would rather see currency than some of the smilodon hides, strength potions, etc., especially considering the length of a campaign battle and the lotting competition (if it brings in more participants).

    A 1-hour campaign with a maximum of even 6-7 pieces of currency per union does not seem threatening at all to Dynamis, since at highest only one character would be getting that many pieces per hour (can't be in more than one union), and if that's the case, I wouldn't imagine there are many people in other unions to make them drop much. Players still need Dynamis for the base weapon and later trials anyway. I haven't checked the frequency of all campaign battles, though, maybe 6/battle with 5 full unions (30/battle) & 6 battles at a time (180/hour or so) starts to make it seem like a lot overall, though individual players might only get 1-2 pieces if lucky in that situation.
    Still something I was wondering about while trying to figure out getting a Dynamis group together for splitting currency someday (do not have the interest needed for it at this point).

    At least on Bismarck, it's been difficult to play with lv.61-70 jobs in Campaign because I usually don't live very long without anyone around, and sometimes no one would show up so I could do anything without needing reraise. It's hard to enjoy anymore.

    That dragging-away monsters has also been annoying, though, esp. if a PLD/WAR/whatever they are is holding all the monsters where they come in. Some have been doing that with the entire incoming wave.

    The state of campaign is pathetic. I feel like I've been cheated out of the money I spent on WoTG considering it was the expansion's main feature.

    One thing regarding people pulling mobs away, maybe they could add a "Bastion" type counter that let you know the remaining number of mobs still alive. It would be nice too if they could tell you how close they are to the fortifications similar to incoming mobs message of "Bastion".

    Some ideas for changes to Campaign battle that can possibly bring crowds back to it:

    1.) Auto-Reraise III to players under the Allied Tags effect.

    2.) Possibly allow your Adventuring Fellow to join in on Campaign Battles with you upon getting the Allied Tags effect.(They will Warp out when battle ends.)

    3.) Allow Skill-ups in Campaign Battle.(With or without the Allied Tags effect.)

    4.) Make the Allied Forces a little more formidable should players not be present in the current battle.

    5.) Divide the Freelances up so that each nation can have atleast 4 to aid them in battle.

    6.) Allow players to attain Weapons to use in a Mini-Quest that gives them access to the General-Specific Weapon skills.(Without needing the weapon equipped to use the Weapon skill. Aswell as being able to use outside of Campaign battle.)

    7.) Increase Currency droprates.(As mentioned in an earlier post.)

    8.) Distribute Cruor-like buffs that last only during the time a player is under the effect of Allied Tags.

    9.) Adjust Monster positioning near Campaign Fortifications in :
    Beadeaux(S)
    Castle Oztroja(S)
    Castle Zvahl Baileys(S)
    Castle Zvahl Keep(S)
    La Vaule(S)
    Xarcabard(S)

    10.) Make the Allied Forces prioritize their magic usage accordingly.
    Example:
    Cure should be a priority over casting Banish if their HP is below 20%.
    Allied Forces medics should gain an Area of Effect buffing ability like the Beastmen Confederate Forces have.
