Good day, adventurers!

I hope you are faring well in this heat. Remember, adventuring in Vana'diel is an excellent way to enjoy the various seasons of the year. We're hard at work on the August version update so that you can enjoy many more thrilling adventures to come as we enter this last stretch of summer.

■ Addition of new notorious monsters
==============



In the August version update, we'll be adding new notorious monsters to the Seekers of Adoulin areas. This month marks the first installment of this exciting feature.

We're also planning to make these notorious monsters the next group of foes for adventurers who have managed to gather the armor from Ambuscade.

We'll also be making various adjustments to features such as the monster spawning locations and the method for obtaining the rewards, thereby giving the areas you're already familiar with a fresh look and feel. I hope you'll enjoy this content alongside Unity Wanted, which also offers equipment of a similar level.

■ Wizardry Variants Daphne collaboration
==============
A special collaboration event between FINAL FANTASY XI and Wizardry Variants Daphne is currently underway. Please check it out and see how some of your favorite characters have been recreated in the world of Wizardry.



On the FFXI side, log in during the campaign period to get yourself the super stylish Abyssal Mask, which is based on the mask worn by the protagonist in Wizardry Variants Daphne. This is a great chance to add a piece of this unique collaboration to your Vana'diel wardrobe.

■ Ambuscade updates
==============



・Volume One: Meebles (Content Level 119 & up)
・Volume Two: Morbols (Content Level 117 & up)

In Volume One, the Meebles utilize an elemental attack after a certain period of time has passed. Therefore, make sure to bolster your elemental resistances with a Barspell of the corresponding element while also keeping an eye on the other Meebles that join the fight. The accompanying enemies will attack with Souleater and Hundred Fists, so try to prioritize defeating them as they appear.

The battle against the Morbols in Volume Two features the members of SHINING BLESS. This fight features the somewhat unusual tactic of using the /cheer emote when you make eye contact with one of the characters, so be sure to support your favorite band member once you're in the heat of battle.

■ About the campaigns

・Return Home to Vana'diel and Discount Campaigns



Starting on Friday, August 7, 2026, at 1:00 a.m. (PDT) / 8:00 a.m. (GMT) / 9:00 a.m. (BST), we'll be holding both the Return Home to Vana'diel and Discount Campaigns. These campaigns are perfect for those of you returning to Vana'diel after a long absence or brand-new adventurers hailing from the land of Valeon, I hope you take advantage of this opportunity to enjoy all that the world of Vana'diel has to offer.

And in the event that you would like to extend your stay with us, I recommend you check out the Ultimate Collection Seekers Edition. This special edition includes all of the game's various expansion packs, making it an excellent deal you don’t want to miss!

This package also gives you access to the "A Crystalline Prophecy" high-tier mission battlefield that was just released in July, as well as the "A Moogle Kupo d'Etat" and "A Shantotto Ascension" battlefields that will be added in the future.

・Midsummer's Nomad Mog Bonanza 2026



In an effort to increase the number of times this event is held each year, we've made some adjustments to the schedule and will be bringing back the Nomad Mog Bonanza once again following its previous appearance in May.

This event is the perfect way to acquire a wide range of equipment, from more practical items to those of a somewhat wackier nature, such as the ♪Bubble Crab mount and the Judgment Day furnishing. Please be sure to give it a try!




・Take a Vana'Vacation This Summer! Support Campaign



Once again, we'll be splitting the campaign into two different installments.

We have prepared a variety of different campaigns to help support your adventures, including the Ambuscade Gallantry Campaign, which doubles the badges of gallantry you can earn each day, and the Alter Ego Expo Campaign, which boosts the abilities of your alter egos. So take advantage of this opportunity to level up your characters!


・Vana'Bout - Round 10



Starting mid-August, we'll be launching Vana'Bout - Round 10.

This time, we'll be adding new daily objectives (VBD) as well as time-based objectives (VB), while also reducing the variation between daily objectives. For example, one of the newly added daily objectives will be to "Defeat the requisite number of experience-yielding enemies," and it will be available each day of the event. Additionally, the new "Achieve an experience point chain bonus of 5" daily objective will be available once every two days.

While we feel that keeping the same objectives each day of the event would become repetitive, changing up the objectives every day can also make the gameplay feel more like a chore. Therefore, in order to achieve a proper balance, we are refining the system so that a single action can contribute toward multiple different objectives. This will enable your daily adventures count toward their completion, while also making the content more approachable for a wider range of players.

Finally, based on various feedback, we've decided to change the starting time from 1:00 a.m. (PDT) / 8:00 a.m. (GMT) / 9:00 a.m. (BST) to 8:00 a.m. (PDT) / 3:00 p.m. (GMT) / 4:00 p.m. (BST).


・The Shadow Lord's Dominion



"Day of the Shadow Lord" has become one of FFXI's most anticipated seasonal events.

Therefore, we will be holding the event in multiple installments once again, under the title of "The Shadow Lord's Dominion." The first installment is planned for mid-August, so I hope everyone is looking forward to participating!
