Compact 2 isn't allowing me to navigate my macro bar with IJKL.

When holding CTRL or ALT to show my macro bar, using IJKL to navigate it does not work, it instead acts as if the Macro bar isn't showing and either doing the shortcut commands (CTRL+J opening Job Abilities) or nothing at all.

Here is what I have done so far.

• I have reset the controls back to default to ensure any hotkey changes aren't there anymore.
• I have ensured I have Compact 2 selected
• I have unplugged all USB devices, plugged in just my keyboard and mouse then restarted
• I have tested with a completely different keyboard
• I have completely reinstalled the game

Is there any file within temp or appdata that wouldn't have been cleared by the reinstall that could be holding onto a setting that maybe isn't getting overwritten, or is there an in game setting that would disable the IJKL buttons from navigating the macro bar when holding CTRL or ALT while using the Compact 2 scheme that I am unaware of?

I'm pretty sure you want compact 1 for what you're trying to do. compact 2 came much later and frankly idk what it was trying to achieve.

That's the setting I use for both-hands-on-keyboard. Had nothing to do with a "compact" or laptop keyboard and everything to do with disliking the standard controls' use of the arrow keys and numpad.

I have tried Compact 1 and Compact 2, I even swapped to full keyboard and swapped back. I am still encountering the issue.

I do have a couple other keyboards. I've tested them and I get the same issue. This is why I think I've hit some setting somewhere or my settings have become corrupt? Using the menus is fine, moving the camera is fine. It's just when holding control it's acting like I'm in full keyboard mode suddenly instead. It's so strange.

I'll be honest, I'm not sure why you wouldn't just press the associated number keys instead of cursoring through the macro bar. Just like any other MMO, you can press ctrl or alt + 0 thru 9 to use the corresponding macro. Way fewer button presses than using the cursor.

But if you really insist on doing it this way, did you try the arrow keys? I'm pretty sure this is the way it has always been. I'm not aware of IJKL ever controlling the cursor in the macro bar.

Hmmm, okay yeah I guess I'm just hallucinating then, pulled out a laptop from the closet to install to and it doesn't work there either. Weird that the arrow keys do it, but not the keybound menu keys and I somehow have this muscle memory that I once could. Thanks all. Also in regards to the hotkey commands Ctrl+7-0 and using Alt is just not comfortable for me at all and since I play super casually, comfort is key. I'll just stick with controller. Other MMOs I'd use CTRL/Shift 1-6 and QERTGV. Not used to going further down the keyboard.

Is there something I can do to mark this as solved?
