story line

i am just curous if there is going to be another mission based story line added to the game i finished all missions so far and i love the story line and just woundering there going to be another mission line or a apocalyps nigh type mission that u need all current story lines done to do?

It's a good question. I liked Abyssea's "alternate outcome" story, but I would definitely support another full-fledged adventure.

Perhaps after all the tweaks and planned content for Lv99 the devs will start coming up with new ideas and release some more of the world to us! ^^

i would like to see more story line or at least another mission that ties all story lines together for the true final boss of the game ffxi was fun have alot of memories met alot of cool people few anoying people would love to see other contenets opend up but were we are now dont think SE would do that the game is dieing hate to say it but it true we are about to have our second world merger

well, In Abyssea....
The reason why your character doesn't exist was because your character failed in defeating "Promithia".
And because your character and your friends where killed by Promithia, Abyssea became the way it is today.

Prishe tho, was the only survivor in abyssea durring the fight with promithia...

I think the abyssea plot was nice however....
It sucked that it was executed poorly...
They should of made it like CoP style where you need to complete storyline in order to proceed and get access to exp/merit/ get your AF3+ and Twilight gear.

But whats done cannot be undone so, lets hope the next expansion pack, if it ever does happen, continues from there on.

I like to explore and beat up more bad guys to save the world again! muhaha! lol

Not entirely accurate. Yes our counterparts lost the fight with Promathia, but they were able to keep him from destroying everything, which is why the 9 Abyssean zones exist. A "pyrrhic" victory at best.

i got an idea maby new expansion when we hit lvl 99 besides few endgame events they anounced there has to be something else when we hit 99

Im seriously disappointed in the lack of quest for my npc and my self in the recent upgrades of the level cap increase since 2010, i hardly consider trading kindred crests and merit points EVERY single increase as a acceptable. While i didnt mind killing the first 30 mobs to get my npc from 70-75, i was pist that it was repeat6ed from 76-80 and i imagine 81-85 is more of the same garbage. While i was pleased at the small dialogue for the quest, i'd rather go somewhere pointless to get a useless key item or drop than killing mobs for a stupid magain trial. As i said, once i dont mind, but it becomes insulting when it is repeated and repeated and repeated. The best story line ever can't fix a boring magian trial as a solution to cap increases for npc and while im at it i pray that 91-95-99 is not more of the same garbage where i trade a kindred crest and some merits for my increase. I feel 99 should be me vs. maat in a rematch with his rival that was showcased in the 85-90 cap i believe. This would be nice and give us a reason to do tomes of valor by having the new testimonies drop off the high level mobs found in those areas, or as a reward for completing x amount of tomes of valor. There, you wanna junk us up with easy button magian trails to increase level cap, i gave you an alternative version of the magain trail. This game is too good to have the towel thrown in at the end.

And like some people mentioned, more quests with my npc (no just quests for cap level, story line quest like one for get her/him a weapon, by example)

I'd like to see the Automaton Interface for PUP adapted, so that we can equip our npc with real gear. Since we have all this high level not so useful anymore gear, why not equip our NPC with it?
